If you want to dramatically improve your quality of life, learn to recover your attention quickly after something steals it. Social media arguments, stressful thoughts, minor inconveniences. Most of it is noise that steals hours to days of enjoyment. Breathe and let it go.
If you are depending on your college to make you a good software engineer, you're screwed.
College will give you classes, exams, grades and eventually a degree.
But nobody is coming to make you industry ready.
You have to learn that shit yourself. Code, build, fail, explore things outside your syllabus and keep learning.
Your degree might get you shortlisted for interviews.
Your skills will decide what happens after that.
You need to be delusional if you want to be successful because your goals shape what you perceive. You won't notice the rare opportunity or life path if your goal isn't so big that others think you are crazy.
