Wishing all my Muslim constituents in Hampstead and Highgate a peaceful Ramadan. I am hugely grateful for the enormous contribution Muslims make to our community, as NHS staff at the Royal Free, teachers, local businesses owners and cultural leaders. 🙏

Let’s be clear: Pakistan has never apologized for the genocide of 1971—3 million killed, hundreds of thousands of women raped, 10 million driven into exile. What their leaders offered were weak half-gestures, never a real acknowledgment of crimes against humanity.
Germany and Japan taught the world how nations can confront their past with honesty. Pakistan has done the opposite: denial, distortion, silence in classrooms.
Until Islamabad admits its guilt before Bangladesh, its own people, and the world, it cannot be at peace with itself. The blood of 1971 is not forgotten, not forgiven.

“I was involved in recovering burnt corpses of over 20 students from the charred building. But members of armed forces are hiding figures. Rather they (army officers) only admits death of only a few students. While my friend safayet and Majid were disclosing interviews to private television channel Jamuna tv and revealing the truth, a group of military officers unleashed fury on them. Both of my friends were ruthlessly beaten up by the military men”.
- Nitul chowdhury, a rover scout and a Milestone school student who took part in body recovery mission revealed the truth on Faceboook

Save the Milestone children. They’re witnesses to countless dead bodies — and now, attacks are coming for them. They’re trapped in the hostel. If they’re burned and mixed with others, no one will even know. Please, someone do something.

A wave of systematic torture, deceit and suppression has been meticulously inflicted on the students, teachers, parents and staffers by the regime since a fighter jet crashed into Milestone school and college. In last twenty-four hours, from concealing causality toll to unleashing law enforcement and applying sound grenade tear shell and live bullets on students teachers and parents, the regime exposed its complete failure to deliver on welfare of the nation at the time of national crisis.
Instead of maintaining transparency over the causality toll, the regime unleashed law enforcement to suppress protesters in its desperate bid to keep the nation in the dark. For their repeated pleas for revealing the causality list, grief-stricken students parents and teachers were attacked by cops with total disregard for human rights, pushing the families and fellow students in further trauma.
The national mourning day has been tainted with blood due to Yunus’s repression, a betrayal not only with the affected – living and dead—but also with the entire nation. The presence of hundreds of thousands of students, teachers and parents on the streets with demands of removal of advisors testified that the regime has lost its credibility. A sense of public anger became palpable when two advisors and press secretary of Yunus regime rejected outright by students teachers and parents of the school during their visit at the crash site for ruling out witness accounts on death toll as disinformation.
Subsequently, the deployment of law enforcement and use of sound grenade, live bullet, lethal weapon, on students and teachers at several places including Milestone college not only undermines the regime’s responsibility to uphold human rights but also exposes its reliance on force even at the height of national crisis. We condemn this attack in strongest term, that sparked countrywide protest.
On medical front, patients were barred from entering hospitals while leaders from political parties and advisors were allowed to go inside the hospital and conduct photo ops with victims, a barbaric show of scoring political points even at the cost disrupting medical services. Volunteers who came to donate blood for the victims were attacked in police presence.
To establish regime’s narrative, journalists were attacked intimidated barred from covering on the details on the impact of the crash site.
Even the insensitivity of the chief advisor Yunus towards the affected triggered shockwaves forcing him to take down his Facebook post asking for donation from public.
Against the law enforcement including army public anger is also simmering. People expressed no confidence on the reasons given by the government on the crash.
We urge the global community to raise voice against the ongoing brutal wave of repression unleashed by the regime and save the lives of citizens who are merely demanding justice and accountability over Yunus sponsored repression.
We stand in solidarity with the students, teachers parents and everyone raising voices against the ongoing state sponsored cover up.

“Male cops assaulted us” — Female students expose brutality under Yunus regime
👉The sobbing voices of young women, attacked for seeking truth, now echo across the nation.
👉Unarmed. Peaceful. Asking questions.
👉What they got: violence, humiliation, and silence.
👉This is not law enforcement.
👉This is state-sponsored repression.
🔻
There were male cops. We were brutally assaulted by them. Male cops manhandled us.
