Photographer Martin Le-May was walking through a London park with his wife, hoping to show her a green woodpecker for the first time, when he snapped this incredible photo: a weasel riding a flying woodpecker.
In Australia, a man named Alfie Date moved into a retirement home at the age of 109. About 12 hours after he arrived, two of the nurses came to his room and asked if he could knit. He could, he’d been at it since 1932.
They told him about a program asking volunteers to knit tiny woolen sweaters for an endangered species called Little Penguins. The sweaters stop oil-covered birds from cleaning themselves with their beaks during a spill, because the oil is toxic if they swallow it. Alfie said yes. He spent his last two years knitting hundreds of them. He was lost in 2016, at 110.
@Plusnet@EE - Do you realise your link to upgrade broadband to EE and digital phone line just lags. You get to postcode and offers and then it just does NOT load.
Time for another provider for the in laws I think. You are a communication company!
@RoyalMail - tracking for a 48 hr from 30th Dec says you cant deliver as inaccessible. CCTV shows NO ONE has attempted on 2 occasions, 2nd delivery requested to SafePlace, also did NOT attend. Newcastle under Lyme Office saying are scanning as attempted as behind on delivery!
@MatttttttSwann@skytv Tried to tell me it is an internal wiring issue. I suspect this is utter rubbish as I asked how they knew and no answer (live chat). No engineer until NYE. Getting no more than 1MB. Streaming impossible over Xmas.
Have asked if they throttling connections, had no response.
@SkySportsDarts Who on earth is commentating on the Littler v Davies?
The favouritism is PALPABLE for Davies. Commentary should not be like this! Littler has taken the first set and you would think he's down a set.
Dreadful.
