Fascinating new paper where molecular biophysics intersects with quantum principles to reveal a new axis of biological control: Magnetogenetics.
The implications of this work for non-invasive brain modulation are particularly exciting, laying the groundwork for redox-based, magnetically guided neuromodulation in cognitive and neurodegenerative disorders
TRPV4, often overlooked ion channels are intrinsic magnetic sensitive but becomes a magnetically responsive redox switch when fused to ferritin. Ferritin enables electron tunneling, while static magnetic fields modulate spin dynamics to influence metabolic (ROS) reactions.
The result is a quantum-informed signalling loop -precise, noninvasive, and coherent.
