I'm health science class 2024. I needed an elective and nutrition sounded fun! I've heard there are two types of Cholesterol, good/bad what do both mean? Long term lifestyle. My favorite food is spaghetti YUMM :) @beh353#beh353
I will be bringing what I have learned about nutrition this fall to my future role as a PA by encouraging my patients to eat more clean, providing them with articles they could look at to start or recommending them to RDs that can further help! @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you so much for your lecture this week! I liked how you stated that there is no such thing as good or bad food as they are not comparable. Using the example of a person with low blood sugar needing a cookie showed how every food is beneficial @beh353#beh353
@IK_nutrition22 @beh353 I think this is a great option for those who still wish to enjoy daily but cannot because their daily restrictions or allergies won't allow it. It can also be good for those who need an extra boost of vitamin D! @beh353#beh353
I really enjoyed watching this video about walking as a form of exercise. I used to go for walks in the afternoon and noticed a difference in my weight so it is nice to see that walking has other benefits besides weight loss! @beh353#beh353
If someone has ever told you that walking isn't good enough exercise, send this video to them and wait for them to give you a “touché.” https://t.co/UfYJQuXCcB #walking#nutrition#healthy#metabolichealth
I found this to be a fun article to read! I liked how the explanation for how milk is produced was broken down step by step with pictures for the reader to easily visualize what is being explained to them @beh353#beh353
From Udder to Fridge! Have you ever wondered how milk gets from a dairy cow to your glass? It’s a rather simple process but it does involve a lot of hands! @acreageliving https://t.co/pj3orZQHHO
@SamMontalto2 @beh353 Hi Sam! I agree this article is definitely very simple to follow along and does a great job of providing parents the information they should know about healthy eating, without confusing or overwhelming them at the same time @beh353#beh353
I think this article could be great for parents to look at! It's a great start for parents who don't know much about healthy eating. All of the information is broken down into headings and tips are bolded which makes it easy to understand @beh353#beh353 https://t.co/ROfj3NjXRF
@taline261@beh353 I agree! Showing your patients empathy shows that you care and are there to guide them through this tough journey. Shaming them only worsens the problem @beh353#beh353
I will help care for my future patients/clients by letting them know that diets will not help keep off the weight. Instead they should continue to eat clean which was something that I learned from the article. Starvation=imbalance of energy-regulation @beh353#beh353
I found this video to be very helpful for me and anyone else who is trying to eat more vegetables but do not understand how serving sizes work and/or what a serving size looks like. After watching this video, I realized I haven't been eating enough veggies @beh353#beh353
The second video in my serving size series looks at what counts as a serving of #vegetable. Aim to eat the rainbow from all veggie subgroups - diversity matters! #veggies

I learned this week that obesity is not just overeating. Shaming someone about their weight is counterproductive. Professionally, I will try to find ways to express concern about my patients weight without shaming them @beh353#beh353
@AnthonyDeMarc07@beh353 Hi Anthony! I think this is a great article to share for those who want to change their eating habits but the cost is making it difficult to do so. Now, they can still achieve their goals while spending the least amount of money! @beh353#beh353
I think that it is great that they have created an app that can help cardiac patients be able to monitor their health from home as well as figure out what is negatively affecting their conditions so that they can fix it before it worsens @beh353#beh353

This video was very helpful to look at. I did not know that we could get our daily dose of vitamin C from other foods as well not just citrus. As someone who is not a fan of citrus, this was music to my ears ! @beh353#beh353
When it comes to #vitaminC, how you prep your food matters. Check out my latest video on how to get your #dailydose and for a few #kitchenhacks to minimize nutrient loss in cooking.

@SamMontalto2 @beh353 Hi Sam! I understand the feeling of choosing to go out to eat instead of putting in the time and effort to cook a healthy meal. Especially if access to grocery stores are so far and limited in the area. It is definitely more convenient @beh353#beh353
The barrier of time to plan, shop, prepare and cook healthy food. I tend to have a lot to do in a day such as school, work, etc. so I will prioritize all of those other things first before I think about what I am going to eat for that day @beh353#beh353
@AnthonyDeMarc07@beh353 Hi Anthony, I agree this multivitamin has too much of vitamins that we do not need a lot of. I also noticed that this bottle seems to contain no sugars which is interesting because the multivitamins given to kids seem to have sugar added to them @beh353#beh353
I think it is really important for more people to see this! I never checked to see nor did I bother to understand what the label terms on eggs mean and after reading this article, I will start being more attentive to what I am purchasing at the store @beh353#beh353
It’s important to know what those label terms REALLY mean, rather than what they ‘imply’.
No matter what you decide to purchase, you should know that all eggs are essentially the same.

This is a multivitamin my dad used to give to me as a kid. After looking at the label, I've learned that there are high amounts of vitamins in this bottle. Also, the first three ingredients are glucose syrup, sugar and water..very interesting @beh353#beh353
@taline261@beh353 I think both articles you shared are good high quality sources although I think this article by the FDA is more easier for patients to read because it breaks down how to read food labels in a way patients can understand @beh353#beh353
