As the semester comes to a close for the Holidays just wanted to bring this article to stay active, safe, and healthy on break. Good luck on finals everyone!!! @beh353#beh353
@AnthonyDeMarc07@beh353 Great post Anthony! Like you said it is important to provide accurate and healthy advice to future patients while working alongside with RD’s to provide highest quality care to patients in order to prevent disease @beh353#beh353
throughout the semester I learned so much abt nutrition and healthy living. As a PA my goal for patients will be to provide educated advice on healthy lifestyle to prevent disease while working alongside interprofessionally with healthcare professionals @beh353#beh353
I thought this was interesting because nowadays seems like there is increase in amount of people who are constantly having to suffer allergies and sensitivities that later affect health which increase disease @beh353#beh353
This is amazing to discuss the benefits of walking because walking nowadays it is the most simple yet an effective way to stay in shape and healthy @beh353#beh353
I really enjoyed watching this video about walking as a form of exercise. I used to go for walks in the afternoon and noticed a difference in my weight so it is nice to see that walking has other benefits besides weight loss! @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you for lecturing us this week! It was informative to learn about the RD role and inter-professionalism. I learned also that junk food refers to processed foods with longer shelf life. @beh353#beh353
@AnthonyDeMarc07@beh353 Hi Anthony! Nice post. I agree that this is a reputable source to parents and children regarding vital ways to obtain nutrient dense meal for promoting vital strength and growth especially starting at a young age @beh353#beh353
Another great article for children to choose healthy foods by focusing on eliminating sugar to more healthy vegetables that prevent sickness and promote growth @beh353#beh353

Week 12: this an easy article for pregnant women because if has useful information on ways diet and environmental factors can be beneficial to the baby to prevent harm @beh353#beh353
@jiannamramos@beh353 I agree it is very shocking to read about how someone can easily get misdiagnosed and learn that unsolicited advice can alter one’s life detrimentally @beh353#beh353
As a future healthcare professional for weight management I would take a look at the entire perspective and recommend diet based on the American food guidelines and ways to keep the body moving for patients who want to live healthier lifestyle @beh353#beh353
Week 11: caring for patients for weight management can be challenging but as a provider one has to give honest advice and show empathy for the benefit of the patient. In the article a woman starved herself 6 months due to unsolicited advice which is wrong. @beh353#beh353
This relates to this week on obesity and how obesity can increase risk if cardiovascular disease but it does not just come from diet alone. @beh353#beh353
@DeenMuttakin@beh353 I also thought this misconception and did not know other factors play a role that are linked to obesity. It actually makes more sense now that diet isn’t the only cause and sleep or metabolism play a role. @beh353#beh353
Week 10: obesity can be caused by other factors that play a role rather than just diet. Some factors include metabolism, stress, sleep, hormones, or other health diseases. Just cause someone may be overweight we cannot assume it’s due to only diet @beh353#beh353
I think this relates to one of the barriers in the article this week because some places that can’t afford healthy products would be expected to consume unhealthy food in certain situations @beh353#beh353
@fedoweadake@beh353 Hi! I agree this is something I also used to have a hard time with until I managed my time with long school and work hours to have motivation to come home and prepare a meal from scratch which is something I have improved on @beh353#beh353
Week 9: as one of the barriers, I used to lack on time to prepare food when my schedule got hectic. However I have learned so much time management and have adapted to changes to still have time to prep healthy foods from scratch @beh353#beh353
This is a wonderful source that links to foods with many sources of vitamins and minerals necessary for the body if you want to check out what sources of food contain what vitamins! Berries in particular contain lots of vitamins and antioxidants🫐 @beh353#beh353
