Presented a paper entitled "Prayer and Tears against Dryness in Humanity: Watchman Nee and Jing Dianying’s Spiritualities and Their Interaction with China’s Spirit World” at this year's SPS conference.
Nee writes poetically: "If our prayers are seasoned with tears, they will be answered much sooner. Many prayers are heartless prayers because there are no tears in them."
Jing, the founder of the Jesus Family movement, states, "Prayer without tears is dry!"
What an amazing SPS conference this year, in which I attended a book panel with my new book "Spirit(s) and Chinese Religiosity: Retelling the History of Chinese Christianity from a Pentecost Perspective" and Joel Daniels' book! My gratitude goes to Dr. Amos Yong for organizing this panel, and Dr. Xiaoli Yang and Dr. Alex Mayfield for reviewing our books.

My dissertation-turned-book is now available on Brill, which is a religion-science-Daoism "trialogue" on Jingjiao, the earliest Chinese Christianity established by the Church of the East missionaries. I want to thank my mentor, Dr. Veli Matti Karkkainen, for writing the foreword and guidance during my PhD studies, and Dr. Kirsteen Kim, Stephen Bevans, and Miika Ruokanen for including my book in their Theology and Mission in World Christianity series!
