“the 40+ year run of declining interest rates is over... It's over… real estate is trending toward zero in #BTC terms”
The most important piece of information one could possess, that 99/100 people haven’t figured out yet.
This is the mother of asymmetric information.
Every time I post something about how poor of an investment real estate is and will continue to become, I get major push back from many who's identity and/or profession is tied to it.
I understand the loyalty and I do understand why some have done well with it in the past, including myself. I still have eight properties left to unload, after selling numerous. So, while I don't consider myself an expert, when I do speak on this topic, I do so from some degree of experience.
With all that said, real estate today is a very poor store of value and will increasingly become worse in my opinion.
Firstly, the 40+ year run of declining interest rates is over. This is largely what made this an almost no lose play for all this time. It's over. It won't be the same now.
Add to this the affordability issue and you have a bleak outlook going forward, barring insolated pockets. There are always outliers in a data set.
What's more, when you really do the numbers and consider all the trade-offs, real estate is not generally what it's cracked up to be anyway. It's a fugazi.
What many miss and fail to consider is the following:
You contend with
taxes,
insurance,
maintenance,
upkeep,
management,
depreciation,
illiquidity,
inflation,
interest rate risk,
monetary debasement,
legal,
possible confiscation via imminent domain, and
immobility of the asset.
#Bitcoin has none of these issues. Not one. No wonder real estate is trending toward zero in #BTC terms. It's just a more superior property. Take a look. 👇🏽 #stackharder
@sovmindset I have more ??? than answers
What’s the conservative path?
-protect nodes from spam or
-not change bitcoin
Have miners captured the network, or do nodes just need much higher consensus than 15% to force miners?
In any case, unhappy with what Core did and unhappy with the revolt
We are under attack. And they are aiming for the very heart of the Bitcoin social layer. Coldcard and BTCPayserver. These are enthusiast/hardcore tools, used by the people who live and bleed Bitcoin.
This does not feel like chance.
Targeted.
@BTCsessions Am I crazy for still wanting to use Coldcard? Creating my own entropy and using it as one of 3 signers. I still like coldcard even after all this
@FiatMaximus This isn’t quite right.
Small trailerable sail boats are awesome and great family fun, per my experience. Big sailboats are absolutely a selfish dad toy.
Interesting point though.
@SteveFranssen My first kid the doctor was in a hurry and threatened a C-Section. Second kid, midwife threatened a C-section. Both were very simple uncomplicated births. No wonder hospitals bill $45k+ to deliver a baby when doctors use every possible intervention and immigrants don’t pay for it
@1MarkMoss@TheGuySwann@RepThomasMassie Mark, Massie received $1M indirectly from Yass on libertarian alignment. His opponent received $20M from the Israel lobby on Zionism alignment.
Nothing to do with Israel?
@TFL1728 Trump has done enough himself to split MAGA, no City of London theory required. All he had to do was deport the illegals and not go to war with Iran and MAGA would be fully behind him. He’s either a liar, being black mailed, or not in control. Pick one.
@LukeDashjr@IMPERATORAUS I meant what Mass do you attend? I know your views on NO, the Pope and I think you’re also critical of SSPX. Just curious what the faith looks like for you. I see so much criticism from you of the church, but not a lot of what Catholics should be doing in your view.
@AawtperkDJoeA@SimplyBitcoin They’re using questionable analogies, but I think what they are getting at is
a) quantum states collapsing into a single state indicates that time is discrete
b) quantum superposition only applies to a single state, not many past states, which would be required to run Shors…
@c_monty2024@hubermanlab@esaagar Personally I’m anti weed. I wasted a lot of my precious youth smoking that I wish I could have back, but that’s just me. Key is to be honest with kids and not to lie to them about it.
@SteveFranssen I saw this first hand with a college roommate. Regularly smoked concentrated THC, and began having schizophrenic episodes. Accusing us of conspiring against him, hearing voices, to us having to take a loaded 30-06 out of his mouth. It’s dangerous to say the least.
