@visakanv My kids a few months older than yours and she's improved a lot in the last few months. I've noticed she's gone through a few phases of angry/grumpy/rude to kinder/more helpful/chill back and forth for a couple of months at a time over the last couple of years
@JeremiahDJohns Through the power of modern technology we have nearly ended child mortality, live lives of unimaginable comfort, freed ourselves from countless hours of drudgery, and halved the price of saffron
@loudmouthjulia The Inuit lived for thousands of years in places with no real source of carbs, obviously leading active lives and in good health. At a base level, you don't need carbs. The human body can live just fine without them. But nothing wrong with choosing to eat them
@visakanv I think the adult (or even older child) version of this is observation. You wouldn't put an adult in a kitchen and just like, vibe it out, but you absolutely would put them with someone experienced and just let them watch
@visakanv@lauren_wilford This inspired me to watch interstellar again for the first time in ages, and my god does it hit different when you have children. This giant layer to the film that I never understood or appreciated before
@YankeeGunner We also gave away heaps of opportunities through being panicky when we had the ball, as well as PSG getting into shape quickly and defending well. The ref was at most a small influence in a game where we had lots of opportunities but squandered
@visakanv Can't remember what book I read it in, but definitely find just talking to them and telling them beforehand (describing the world in a way) what's going to happen and laying out a timeline helps so much. It's not a huge upsetting shock if they know it's coming!
@arse2mouse I think there's another way to view it which is that the failures maybe helped a bit. Like, you've
already given it everything (esp. in 23-24) and failed, so maybe there's a bit less pressure? You've already experienced the bitter lows and you're still here competing again
@arse2mouse I think there's a bunch of people who would rather be the best of the rest than be the worst of the (2-3) genuine title challengers and be labelled bottlejobs or whatever. Which seems nuts to me
@crustopher@JeremiahDJohns Well yeah. Some names I can imagine people of all ages. When I think Mark I think of a 50 year old dude. To me it would be like calling your baby Gary or Linda in 2025. Nothing "wrong" with it, just kind of odd
@Tyler_The_Wise@JeremiahDJohns 250th seems quite low compared to the past? Just a name I would associate with adults not children in 2025 (even though all marks must have been children at some point)
@JeremiahDJohns Eh even if it does it will still go through phases of popularity, which it's in more of a low right now, and so seems more like an adult name rather than a child name. Someone's gotta bring it back I guess
@BMcSport Oh for sure. But it is a bit "well here you go: literally the minimum number of games for it to be called a competition". I think the only thing it solves is getting a domestic comp off the ground, it's not going to increase cohesion or get heaps of casual interest
