Think of early childhood as an apprenticeship.
Young children arrive in this world as skilled observers and mimics of the significant adults in their lives. Their goal: to be more like you with each passing day.
What you do, they will do. What you say, they will say - both outwardly and to/about themselves.
So think carefully about what you are teaching… not just formally, but as you live each day together.
Just like this sweet little one, your apprentice is always watching, listening, and learning.

Here’s a lovely example of “serve and return” interaction between a father and his toddler. While this little guy’s speech is still developing, dad engages him in conversational turn taking, affirming that his expressions are both important and meaningful.
Sweet baby… she’s almost there. 😀
Especially for preschoolers, hula hooping involves sophisticated gross motor coordination, the separation of trunk and limb movements, and more. She’s closer to success than many adults. (Okay…me. I mean me.)
iHV is delighted to launch new film capturing how #HealthVisitors support families through the unexpected twists and turns of early parenthood. Parenting is hard and nothing completely prepares you for it.

Toddlers with behavioural problems ‘barely’ threw toys around and had tantrums once a week as opposed to once a day after receiving a health visitor-led parenting support programme @PEDALCam @iHealthVisiting @NurseryWorld https://t.co/UxAmGQYKX9
An mRNA vaccine doesn't actually contain the virus itself. Think of it as an email sent to your immune system that shows what the virus looks like, instructions to kill it, and then—like a Snapchat message—it disappears. Amazing technology.
I can’t overstate how proud I am of our #NHSWales staff - meeting porters, nurses, midwives, health visitors, therapists, doctors, estates staff & more from @AneurinBevanUHB today was a really emotional experience. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do.
Is a secondary pandemic on its way? Read blog by @CheryllMA. We call on Govt and HV employers to act now to do all they can to quell #safeguarding storm for children and families that will already be affecting so many infants and children

@HarvardCenter This is so important. We need to act now to secure the future wellbeing of infants and children. Redeployment of health visitors is not a wise move unless an area genuinely has a surplus. How do we stop it? @LGAWellbeing@NHSEngland@ADPHUK @PHE_uk @VivJBennett @CNOEngland
As we 👏 tonight thinking of all the school nurses and health visitors working so hard to protect children from Coviid19 and the wider impacts of Covid19 Thank you @SAPHNAsharonOBE @WeSchoolNurses@iHealthVisiting@WeHealthVisitor @PHE_uk
