Here’s a lovely example of “serve and return” interaction between a father and his toddler. While this little guy’s speech is still developing, dad engages him in conversational turn taking, affirming that his expressions are both important and meaningful.

Especially for preschoolers, hula hooping involves sophisticated gross motor coordination, the separation of trunk and limb movements, and more. She’s closer to success than many adults. (Okay…me. I mean me.)
