@rsencion @oatly That would make sense if New Yorkers living in CDMX comprised some significant portion of sales potential but if you’re incurring the operational cost of entering MX, you’re prob aiming for a wider target. But yeah it works if goal is to be poster child for gringofication of CDMX

Hay más por hacer pero hoy en día, CDMX ya es un destino para el ecosistema emprendedor de Latam. Que increíble ver cómo ha crecido estos últimos 9 años 🥲

Cuando recién llegue a México en 2015, nadie me entendía cuando decía que trabajaba en una startup.

(Graciosamente, era una startup peruana que se llamaba Farolito, que obvio para los mexas son los tacos 🌮)

Como contexto, Uber todavía era ilegal y Cornershop apenas se lanzó

This founder just got an intro to a VC using the intro structure below 👏🏾 ⬇️

When founders ask me to make intros for them and I ask for a forwardable, THIS tends to be the format that yields the highest success rate amongst my network.

Rather than asking: "Jeanine - who do you know who invests in x?"

These were the steps she took:

1. Created list of investors whose theses align with her product

2. Went to my LinkedIn to see which of these VCs I was connected to

3. Shot me an email asking if I knew the investor personally

4. Sent me a *personalized* forwardable

5. Intro was made

I'm not saying this format is law.

What I *am* saying is that if you want to increase your chances of getting that meeting (with my help), this format tends to work best.

A personal thanks to this founder for letting me use her as an example to spread knowledge 💛
