There is logic for this... even if you don't love it.

SECNAV said "unmanned ship" repeatedly in his testimony and Ranking Member @RepAdamSmith used "autonomous ship," but nobody was talking about any "unmanned boats."

I wonder why that is?

As @HungCao_VA pointed out to @sethmoulton, he wants platforms that can carry big missiles and cross the whole Pacific under their own power.

He doesn't want platforms that are like a turtle sitting on a fencepost. (his words not mine)

When you carry missiles and can cross the whole Pacific (e.g. MUSV) - you get to be called a ship!

- @anduriltech secured $5B in Series H funding led by @ThriveCapital and @a16z.

- @VardaSpace secured a collaboration with United Therapeutics Corporation, the multibillion-dollar biotech firm, to explore space-based pharmaceutical processing for pulmonary disease treatments using Varda’s orbital manufacturing and reentry platform.

- @EnhancedRadar secured $7M in funding led by Initialized Capital. The YC startup is developing new-age air traffic control systems deployed at roughly 80 North American airports.

- Kinetic Industries, Inc. has launched. The Virginia Beach startup is developing a ���100% U.S.-manufactured fiber optic spool” and furthering American drone components and capabilities. The startup was founded by John Maggio, former VP of Operations at Naval Special Warfare.

- @valinortech HarborOS is being integrated into Anduril Industries Lattice through the Army’s NGC2 effort, bringing casualty data and medical supply chain information into the next-generation battlefield operating picture.

- @ZeroEyesAI secured a deal with the City of Brighton, Alabama, to integrate its weapons detection technology into the city’s smart city stack.

- @anduriltech secured a United States Department of War production agreement to deliver a minimum of 3,000 Barracuda-500M long-range strike missiles over three years.

- @Figure_robot is livestreaming a team of humanoids running a full 8-hour autonomous shift sorting small packages.

- GoAhead Ventures raised a $120M 𝐆𝐨𝐀𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝. The fund has invested in hard tech companies such as Valar Atomics and Colossal Biosciences.
