Just heard from a patient who lost her 3 year old child 27 years ago. Her doctor tried to say her addiction risk was too high to get opioids for pain due to that loss. I'm disgusted by what these doctors weaponize. Ugh.

I have a friend with Lupus who I was able to convince to try coming off gabapentin because it's one of many "pain meds" clearly destroying her life.

She used to have a low dose script for Hydrocodone. It worked. Regardless, they took it away and have loaded her up on multiple antidepressants, steroids, etc. The Works.

Her entire appearance has changed. I believe she has likely developed steroid induced Cushing's from the unnecessary steroid injections.

She has all the outward signs of it, but her doctor doesn't seem to care. She's very "out of it" from the slew of meds. Advocating for herself through the fog of these meds seems impossible for her.

Rarely leaves the house anymore. I KNOW it's the combination of meds, all having been prescribed to justify removing 5-500mg Hydrocodone taken 3 times daily.
