PhD Candidate in Quantum Physics/Photonics and at the Joint Quantum Institute (@JQInews).
Working on new ways to engineer light and maybe(???) make use of it.
I remember first hearing about the #JWST in 2008, walking around the @stsci in Baltimore. (About the same time I was consuming all the Carl Sagan content I could find, so this video is fitting.) I was in 8th grade at the time. 5 years into my PhD and the #JamesWebb is finally up.
We donโt yet know what @NASAWebb will uncover. Will we get answers? Will we have more questions? One thing is certain: The story of us is a never-ending quest for knowledge.
As Carl Sagan said: โWe canโt help it.โ #UnfoldTheUniverse

Merry Christmas! We got you a new telescope.
The James Webb Space Telescope launched today, beginning a one-million-mile journey to see 13.5 billion years into the past. Follow @NASAWebb and join the quest to #UnfoldTheUniverse: https://t.co/TlYpoUHdJu
@nick_farina I enjoyed it even as a student of quantum (rare for quantum in tv/film). It gets a bit wacky to be sure, but it's a beautiful show visually and audibly.
