Europe is somewhat sensitive to North Atlantic Oscillations (AMO), oceanic couplings (AMOC), possible volcanic eruptions, or local damping caused by circulation or weather anomalies (winds). Things can go awry on a decadal scale. In the long run, things should improve.

CO2 has no direct influence on cloud formation and is only inferred as an indirect effect of warming - which, however, most likely stems largely from a reduction in aerosols (less cooling) and increased radiative transparency of the clouds.

@AndyMcDeeOne @DanPangburn CO2 certainly cannot be a major contributor - especially not to weather phenomena in which high- and low-pressure systems facilitate the trapping of hot air from Africa - if a doubling of CO2 is assumed to have a temperature impact of just 2%.
