@Top100Rick It’s loft difference for sure, but I’d also guess they have more loft adjusted ball speed and spin. They need way more control to hold greens stimping 12. (I will rarely hit my GI 7 iron 130 ball speed and have it go 200 yards, but it’s spinning 3k and not holding a green.)
@garrett_TFE Also hole 6 at Rock Creek could be a design disaster. I can think of many, many “perfect” drives/tee-shots down the right-middle that ended of running off into the woods/ravine to become unfindable.
@garrett_TFE Would love to see you give Langston, Rock Creek and East Potomac the Fried Egg treatment. E Potomac and Rock Creek have famous architects and Langston has amazing Black history and was built by CCC/WPA. (Are their other great CCC/WPA golf courses?)
@billbarnwell Is that abnormal? Seems like the natural selection bias of free agency with a league average age of 27. If you are really good you don’t reach FA and if you’re old it’s a signal of decline that your team let you.
@mfinneygolf@SmylieKaufman10@cordie_golfwell Isn’t some of it just that the swing is on an arc so a “straight” shot at target is going to generally be left of target. For example, my iron swing on Trackman is usually on out path of 2 and an AoA of 2 down. I hit a straight or baby draw but my (light) divots are a bit left.
@SeanTrende@ZevWaldman As a general rule, wouldn’t any poll within the margin of error (typically +\- 4) be a “fair” bet anywhere between 1 to 3 or 3 to 1? (I’m loosely equating MOE with standard deviation, which is speculative).
@itsDaveFlynn@BigBlueDrew33 I know the feeling. coached my sons K/1st grade team about 6 years ago. I always said “no concussions and no COVID” the only thing at yell for was if anyone touched a bat without a helmet and all bats stayed in play on the backstop.
@Tom03413979@KVanValkenburg Go to the National Links Trust website. *All* leases—and thus renovation plans—were terminated. I think employees are still supporting courses for time being. While the dumping is happening at East Potomac, all courses are ultimately affected.
@NoLayingUp Now that Gotterup is sure to win, I’d like to make sure you know that the Danish translation of his name is “good rip”. Seems a little too on the nose. (Also, lots of Danes on the leaderboard all week.)
@jbarro Based on her technique the only truly acceptable technique in this situation is to pay a high school kid $20 to spend 30 mins doing it for her. I say this as an in-shape 50 year old man with a good income that grew up in Michigan & still takes pride in shoveling 10” snow myself.
@LouStagner Don’t disagree with your point overall, but I think $20 million seems agressive. James Piot is probably a good comp and he’s made around $10 million. ($4 mil earnings and $6 million reported signing bonus)
@LouStagner@StrackaLine Is the apron part of a false front? Otherwise seems weirdly located.
I’d hit driver about 10-15 yards right of trees and hope for a pull draw about 270-280. If I miss right it should be spinny and only go 250ish—maybe a bit less given it is 10 yards uphill.
@kpomerleau Are you saying the most efficient exemptions are on inputs and intermediate goods? I don’t understand how it follows that other exemptions make those tariffs more harmful. You’re simply lowering the revenue base.
@LouStagner@FrankieBorrelli@ArccosGolf He just had a kid and has a good index, so swing your swing, but it’s pretty clear he’s leaving some speed on the table. He did a video a few years ago with Rory and had 106 driver speed. That roughly translates to to 90mph 7 iron. He *could* be hitting it a full club farther IMO
@jamierkennedy I feel like if you are essentially saying the “best hole ever played” is gaining the most strokes gained per shot to win at the toughest major course. If this is your criteria, I feel like you just need to pick a hole from Johnny Millers 1973 win when he gained 7 shots.
@NoLayingUp Which is more iconic: 1/ Nick Taylor putter throw in “i” of Canadian Open, 2/ Soly as “Wayward Drive” or 3/ Johnny Miller or 1970s rando as PGA Logo?
