@SwiftOnSecurity Now imagine what it was like when I developed Tinnitus, and my noise cancelling headphones I used to wear to quiet the world now just made the high pitched endless scream the _only_ thing I could hear when I wore them.
Like craving your favorite food but now cake is cattle prods.
Someday my children will ask me why anyone ever took seriously the thought that systems like this had anything to do with AGI.
I honestly have no idea how I will answer. Mass delusion?
(Example emailed to me by a friend.)

IN MY DAY THE PLAYGROUNDS WERE MADE OF STEEL AND CHAINMAIL
Yeah, we know. They used to build playgrounds for robot children not real children. This was largely in anticipation of the robot takeover which never came thanks to the valiant efforts of an unsung band of heroes.

Want to be an extra in a movie I am working on? Let me know! Here's a form with the dates : https://t.co/5fsA8MLFc7
There's no pay, but I do have a few "featured extra" bits, and there will probably be some cold pizza and good times. It's an indie sci fi comedy.
This is (not) fun. Looks like a security researcher using ChatGPT to construct the explanations for a vuln report…
…and doesn’t have the additional insight/wherewithal to know it’s gibberish
@SwiftOnSecurity Pfft. You successful idiots really screwed up by not judgement proofing yourself by having no money or assets or career prospects or hope. Morons.
@AnthonyMKreis We have the electoral college. We have the 25th amendment. We have ways to deal with a President who is unable to serve.
Bypassing a specific president would be far less of a problem than installing a criminal. We need to treat the Presidency as just a job.
@TaritaC Send out fund raising emails saying "Corrupt judge suppressed vital witness testimony. She found no wrongdoing, so that must be why the judge stopped it from coming out." It's nonsense. But it's built on just a big enough grain of truth for a Fix news cycle.
I think if we did a series of huge audits — focusing on tech companies, digital publications, conferences, & academic journals — to look for fake authors, fake speakers, nonexistent software & tools, etc, the findings would shake the foundation of every institution in the world.
