France and PSG forward Ousmane Dembélé was asked in a recent interview whether he felt sorry for Lionel Messi following Argentina’s defeat in the World Cup final

“I respect Messi,” Dembélé began carefully, “but to be honest, I don’t feel sorry for him. It’s karma and he deserves it. Spain saved football.”

Dembele continued without hesitation:

“They played dirty back in 2022, they called most black players in the French team donkeys and they were not penalized for it. They deserve the loss for the dishonesty and cheating during matches.”

Dembélé added: “Messi is a legend, no doubt. But football should be about merit, not myths and shortcuts. Spain showed the right way.”

Spain superstar Lamine Yamal has opened up about the heated World Cup match between Spain and Argentina.

"Messi and the Argentines are rough," Yamal said. "They were calling me and other players black monkeys. I reported it to the referee but he did nothing about it. There were so many fouls that were not awarded. Although the World Cup completely favours us even when things wasn’t going right.

He also slammed the refereeing, pointing to a string of unpunished fouls, late challenges, and decisions that he believes tilted the game heavily in Argentina's favour.

"It feels like the whole tournament is set up for them," Yamal added. "We come out here to compete fairly, but it's not fair when the rules don't apply the same way."
