prior to the TPS designation thus those who entered without inspection would return to being undocumented and can be subject to removal. #TPS4Tigray#Tigray
Thread: In order to receive #TPS you must register by submitting Form I-821 application to USCIS and meet the following qualifications:

It should be noted that TPS doesn’t give TPS beneficiaries lawful permanent residency status nor citizenship U must apply to adjust UR immigration status to legal resident status as once TPS designation ends the TPS beneficiary status will revert back to the status they had
Spoke directly to @POTUS#Biden today regarding potential genocide in #Tigray. He is very well aware of the situation and is open to hear my ideas on how to respond, particularly to pressure #Eritrea to withdraw troops.
The @POTUS admin should enforce the executive order on imposing sanctions as the fake unilateral ceasefire to give access to aid was violated, & such attacks are considered a war crime. The humanitarian needs has only exacerbated since March. #Tigray@AsstSecStateAF@ChrisCoons
We are heartbroken to hear of the latest airstrike that targeted civilians in a residential area and kindergarten school. At a time when millions are facing starvation & children are out of school due to senseless conflict that has destroyed the majority of the schools. #Tigray
I am horrified by the Ethiopian government’s renewed assault on #Tigray. Tigrayans face the worst humanitarian crisis in the world & this new offensive threatens millions already enduring famine. The US must act to help facilitate an immediate ceasefire. https://t.co/TGEhxxakJ5
You might have heard about the sickening violence in Tigray, a region in northern Ethiopia. It’s important for us all to understand what’s going on in these spaces. Here’s a bit of an explainer:
The question remains why can't citizens have access to cash? Limiting access to money does not help the humanitarian crisis. It only further debilitates the people of #Tigray and makes them dependent on the ones weaponizing access to food and aid.
According to the standards of procedures for humanitarian aid convoys, the limit on cashflow is informal, not illegal:
"There is currently an *informal limit* of cash per person. However, the amount is unclear, so we strongly recommend reducing it to the minimum." #Tigray
What makes the camps in Afar where Tigrayans are being held concentration camps is the harsh conditions in which they are being confined, based on their identity, unable to freely move about, without regard to legal norms of arrest. #Tigray
About 10,000 Tigrayans in an unimaginable suffering in sweltering Semera (Afar) Concentration Camps. They have been rounded up from Abala/Sheket area & placed in camps in Semera for more than 7 months. Some have died and been buried in a dumping ground, others have gone mad. 1/n
I urge the @StateDept to advance a resolution to the conflict in Ethiopia, with accountability for human rights violations and an inclusive dialogue for real peace, as the situation in Oromia continues to deteriorate every day. https://t.co/RHyNSI91Ga
Text “Sign PVLCCK” to contact your representatives regarding thousands of #Tigrayans that are kept in Internment Camps across Ethiopia
#Tigray#TigrayGenocide
Time for @SecBlinken to make the determination of famine in #Tigray and to recommend enforcement of the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act against those intentionally hindering access to aid into #Tigray
The @SenateForeign passes bipartisan resolution condemning starvation as a weapon of war
“From #Ukraine to #Syria to Ethiopia are watching with horror as bad actors destroy agriculture, deny humanitarian access” -@SenJeffMerkley#TigrayFamine
As we see in #Ukraine, #Ethiopia, and #Syria, conflict is a major driver of #foodinsecurity. Our resolution condemns the use of hunger as a weapon of war and calls upon the U.S. gov't and our partners to respond quickly and hold perpetrators accountable. https://t.co/9cw9xEcgQJ
Non-refoulement is one of the pillars of international refugee law with the recent travel advisory by @TravelGov
advising US citizens not to travel to Ethiopia, we again call on @DHSgov@SecMayorkas to designate Ethiopia for #TPS#TPS4Tigray

5/11/22 : “Famine Condition” - @PowerUSAID
A body can survive for 8 to 21 days w/out food and water & up to 2 months if there's adequate access to water intake. 11 months of “famine conditions” has costed lives.
