@houstonisdwatch @HISDSupe Helping by providing a safe space for students. Doesn’t matter NES or not - Miles’s team canceled my kid’s field trip (non-NES) & won’t let our teachers teach (constant observation). Our staff know he’s coming for them even with their stellar STAAR scores.

@houstonisdwatch Teachers want the first day to be about developing relationships, setting expectations, and forming routines. Clever teachers can integrate a bit of content into the day, but realistically, it’s never much.

On the day of the interview, the main HISD building was filled with teachers. We were separated into groups of about 15-20. Our group was invited to a room and as we sat down,

The email invitation mentioned an in-person interview, and that it was only for "interviewing to enter the NES pool". I had to fill out an online form where it prompted me to choose 3 top NES schools where I would want to teach at.

just out of curiosity. My credentials and experience as a teacher are stellar, and I knew I'd get invited to an interview for sure. I received an invitation for an interview from HISD the next day after I applied.
