Baszucki Group Funds Oxford University Clinical Trial of Ketogenic Therapy for Early Psychosis
Today, we announced a £1.17 million grant to support a randomized controlled trial at the @UniofOxford assessing the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of a ketogenic diet for patients at clinical high risk of psychosis (CHR-P).
“This study is an important step forward in understanding the potential of ketogenic therapy on physical and mental health in this highly vulnerable patient group,” said @janellison, co-founder and president of Baszucki Group. “This ambitious project represents a rare opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how ketogenic therapy could fundamentally transform the trajectory of serious mental illness in a largely medication-naive population. We are thrilled to support the research team at Oxford in this first-of-its-kind trial.”

Looking for applicants: We’re one month into our study on the ketogenic and Lion Diets for RA and IBD. The weaning protocol is complete, and participants start the therapeutic diets this Monday.
The second cohort launches in a few months, spots are still available!! Apply now!

I'm honored to be invited to speak at the American Psychiatric Association annual meeting this year on Brain Energy: The Metabolic Theory of Mental Illness.
If you plan to attend this year's meeting, I hope to see you there!

What @samhsagov is doing to address the overmedicalization and lack of informed consent in mental health treatment:
➡️ Publish data on prescribing trends and release physician guidance
➡️ Roll out national training modules on psychiatric medication risks, tapering, and de-prescribing
➡️ Train providers on medically supervised tapering at over 1,400 health centers treating 39 million patients
So grateful! Changing tapering guidelines and educating doctors about akathisia (from neurological injury not just as a side effect), PSSD, and protracted withdrawal/neurological injury manifesting as “psych illness” is going to save lives.
Here’s a podcast about mitochondrial dysfunction. From all my years of using ketogenic diets like the lion diet for health, getting impacted by mold, experiencing SSRI induced withdrawal/damage, it finally appears like the root cause is mitochondrial dysfunction at a cellular level. The research into this is cutting edge and fascinating. @ChrisMasterjohn, a PhD in nutritional sciences, runs a mitochondrial testing company called Mitome and is unbelievably knowledgeable about mitochondrial dysfunction.
We get into what serotonin is actually doing in your body, why SSRIs and benzodiazepines are actually mitochondrial drugs in ways nobody prescribing them understands, why the lion diet and other keto diets work from a biochemistry standpoint, why mega-dosing supplements can harm you, what B vitamins and red meat have to do with inflammation, how mold toxicity and food reactions can produce identical symptoms and more.
This one is for anyone who has been chronically sick and wants to understand what’s going on at a cellular level.
SSRIs are destroying lives.
We’ve been running a massive, uncontrolled experiment on human brains — altering complex neurological systems in ways we still don’t understand.
The consequences are horrific:
Life-altering withdrawal-induced brain injuries when people try to stop. Some take the pill just once and are left with severe neurological damage long after discontinuation — chemically lobotomized, with profound cognitive impairment and the complete loss of the ability to feel love, pleasure, joy, grief, or human connection.
Many adolescents have taken their lives because of this.
These drugs are causing serious, devastating brain damage. Pharmaceutical companies have deliberately suppressed and concealed these life-destroying injuries from us.
I’ve had over 400 new submissions in the last 3 days about heart-breaking experiences with psychiatric medications. People who took them exactly as prescribed and ended up with long-term, terrible damage. Many weren’t even on them long-term. These stories will be on https://t.co/h7tfmwwXgS.
I’m looking for stories from people who have been injured by pharmaceuticals to add to a website I put together on pharmaceutical induced injury. Please share. Hopefully this website can help push for much needed change. My story is on there already.
HUGE NEWS: we are officially launching a large random clinical trial study on the ketogenic and carnivore (Lion Diet specifically) and its impact on RA and IBD! I have been working towards this and wanting it for 8 years since the carnivore diet put my Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis into remission. This kind of study could really change people’s lives.
Making clinical trials happen on questions that really matter to people! Kudos to @MikhailaFuller!
I think most people do not realize how FEW clinical trials on red meat there are. Hardly any! For all the condemnation of red meat by so many experts for so many decades, they've not actually studied it in a rigorous way (trials). It shouldn't take citizen scientists to make this happen. But hats off
Huge news—I can now tolerate some plant foods without arthritis or depression flares! After 8 years of strict ruminant meat only, I'm shifting to animal-based/keto (meat + greens). Diet achieved remission but I needed more help to add foods back in! Finally figured out how in the last few years. Full 10-year health overview (what worked, what didn't) in my new YouTube/podcast video—linked in bio.
Also: Please consider supporting or applying for the study comparing keto, Lion Diet, and SAD on RA & IBD. Links in bio. These clinical trials can help change mainstream medicine's approach to chronic illness!
164k raised!! Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far! If you’d like to contribute to the largest Carnivore (Lion Diet) vs. Keto vs. Standard American Diet and its impact on RA and IBD the link is in my bio. We’re also still looking for applicants to join (see the comments for exclusion criteria). Looking forward to sharing the results when this is over.
