@wannabemuhadith Where does he say that those who preferred Ali رضي الله عنه over the Shaykhayn رضي الله عنهما were rejected? And how is that different from tafdhiliyyah
It is also a sign of deviation that, in the very month when the noble members of the Prophet’s family were brutally martyred, some people choose to defend Yazid and justify him by citing the virtues of Constantinople.(1/2)
Indian Muslim Luminaries: M. M. Mustafa al-Aʿzami, A Nightmare For Orientalists.
M. M. Mustafa al-Aʿzami was one of India’s greatest muhaddithīn and among the most formidable defenders of the Sunnah in the modern era—a scholar whose meticulous research left many Orientalist assumptions in ruins.
Born in Mau (Azamgarh district) in 1930, he graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband, earned his M.A. from Al-Azhar, and completed his Ph.D. at Cambridge. Yet despite his credentials from the very institutions often used to challenge Islam, he devoted his life to proving the authenticity of the Qur’an and Sunnah through rigorous academic research.
His works, especially Studies in Early Hadith Literature and The History of the Qur’anic Text, systematically dismantled the claims of Orientalists with evidence drawn from the earliest Islamic manuscripts and sources. In less than a page, he could refute arguments that others spent entire books promoting.
He served Islam with distinction as Professor Emeritus at King Saud University and held academic positions at Oxford, Princeton, Michigan, Umm al-Qura, and other renowned institutions. In 1980, he received the King Faisal International Award for Islamic Studies in recognition of his immense contribution to preserving and defending the Islam.
Shaykh al-Aʿzami did not answer falsehood with rhetoric—he answered it with isnād, manuscripts, evidence, and scholarship. His legacy remains a towering proof that sincere knowledge (ʿilm) is among the greatest forms of jihād in defending the dīn. May Allah ﷻ have abundant mercy on him, accept his service to Islam, and raise his ranks among the scholars and the righteous. Āmīn.
There are more Salafis defending/allying with Hotha the filthy Arab Supremacist who violated Palestinian women's honour publicly.
Last week you were all crying when MH said Najdism was entwined with Saudi nationalism,
Tell us now how Salafism and Arab nationalism aren't linked?
Drop the pretense.
Hanbaliyya did not need MIAW and existed for 1200 years before his coming.
According to these Najdis, any Athari older than 300 years is not a real Athari because they did not know MIAW.
There is a decisive consensus (qaṭʿī ijmāʿ) among the Muslims that the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ is the best of all creation. This is established through numerous narrations indicating his supreme rank and through the explicit statements of the scholars of Ahl al-Sunnah.
The Prophet ﷺ saying:
“I am the master of the children of Ādam, and this is no boast.” carries a clear implication (mafhum) of his superiority and elevated rank (ʿulūw al-makānah) over the rest of humanity.
As for the narration:
“Do not say I am better than Mūsā… I do not know whether he was among those exempted or whether he was resurrected before me,” there is within the text itself an indication of its interpretation.
The Prophet ﷺ explicitly says, “I do not know.” This leaves open the possibility that, at that particular time, he had not yet been informed of every aspect of his rank relative to Mūsā عليه السلام.
Therefore, this report does not negate the later-established reality of his superiority. Rather, it is understood as occurring before he was informed of that distinction, especially since the consensus of the Ummah and the numerous reports establishing his preeminence are decisive and cannot be overturned by a solitary report whose apparent meaning admits of interpretation.
The Prophets ﷺ parents aren’t in Hellfire.
ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, who said: ‘What made you appoint a man over one of the districts of the Muslims when his father used to sell by the manāniyyah measure?’ The man replied: ‘May Allah set right the Commander of the Faithful! What concern is it of mine what his father used to be? The Prophet’s father was a polytheist.’ At this, ʿUmar said, ‘Ah!’ Then he lowered his head in thought, and after a pause he raised it and said: ‘Should I cut out his tongue? Should I cut off his hands and feet? Should I strike off his head?’ Then he said: ‘Have you made this a comparison with the Prophet ﷺ? You shall hold no office under me for as long as I live.’”
In al-Budūr al-Muḍiyyah fī Tarājim al-Ḥanafiyyah reports that some copies read and says الفطرة could easily be altered into الكفر in old script and al-Zabīdī argued that a copyist may have dropped the negating ما, giving the opposite meaning, and that al-Qārī built his commentary on the wrong copy.
The preferred qira'ah is ولا تُسأل The interpretation itself is problematic because the Prophet ﷺ would not be uncertain about the ruling on those who died upon shirk
Ibn ʿAṭiyyah al-Mālikī in his tafsīr said “This is an error on the part of whoever narrated it or whoever supposed it.” He explains why Because his father died while he was in his mother’s womb and his mother died five years later.
Imām an-Nawawī قدس الله سره said,
“It is recommended to kiss the hands of righteous people and the greatest ʿUlamāʿ, and it is disliked to kiss the hand of anyone else. The hand of the beardless man should not be kissed under any circumstances.”
