MYTH: I won't be able to hear my smoke alarm if my door is closed. See the decibel ratings with an open/closed door. We recommend smoke alarms inside/outside sleeping rooms and on every level of the home. #CloseBeforeYouDoze https://t.co/fvxsnHVltg
Dealing with reducing staffing? Check out the Hydrovent! A first strike weapon that suppresses the fire and simultaneously hydraulically events the heat, smoke, & gases away from the victim. Notice I can walk in the container as the heat has been removed. @flir@ITCInfrared

Why Measure Heat?
“Previous studies [15, 16] concerning firefighter PPE and thermal exposures in a fire environment have described pre-flashover fire fighting environments with temperatures ranging from 212°F to 572°F and maximum heat fluxes between 5 kW/m2 and 12 kW/m2.”
This is a great example of how fire departments can partner with their local middle schools to teach students about fire dynamics and fire safety. Contact @ULXplorlabs today and find out how you can use these free online modules to impact your community! #STEM
My thoughts & prayers are with Godfrey Fire Protection District and my dear friend Shawn Bloemker over the next few days as they lay their dear friend & brother Captain Ringering to rest.
Firefighters in training attended class at Bedford County Fire and Rescue Wed. night. During their 16 weeks at the academy, they’ll learn how fires behave, about building construction and search and rescue procedures.

@FFBehavior @smetcalfe116 @cltobinstlfd @FFBehavior Yeah I’m sure it is not correct that’s why I said I’m not sure how accurate it is. But I appreciate your input
@FPequipment@PJNorwood@KTFburns Was very impressed with this tool This was burn #3 as you can see in a matter of seconds temperatures in the room were reduced from excess 1200 degrees down to 300 degrees which makes conditions much more tenable for crews and any possible victims.
Footage from the @KTFburns in Shelby (NC). TIC image and the naked-eye view from two different angles. @FPequipment Shield Spike flows less than 20 gpm. A great option for reduced staffing models and void space fires.
