Post Office Horizon system being replaced, with tenders invited for £75m project. Difficult to see how this could be done without bringing in IT contractors.. but wait, all the best ones for now working for overseas companies remotely, because of #ir35.

Double the £75m, and bin #ir35 and you might find some people to help.

Alternatively, my money is on this being awarded to an overseas company.

I have just seen another FOIA disclosure. Not read it in full but spotted some guidance on how to make a review into the loan charge look independent but with minimum risk.

Mostly conducted in-house with an independent figurehead lead reviewer.

When HMRC issues a tax bill, making a taxpayer tax guilty, you can ask for a Statutory review, which is done by HMRC who mark their own homework. If that fails you can file a compliant, and HMRc mark their own homework. If that fails, you have to appeal to court, and if you win, HMRC will carry on appealing to grind you down - just like they are doing with @kayeadams . It’s an abuse of power. Given the translucent oversight by Treasury Ministers, we need to start naming the civil servants - because Ministers are useless.

I have been an IT contractor in the UK for 25 years with a niche and necessary skill. The Loan Charge, IR35 and tax squeezing force me to leave the UK. I have paid over 1m in taxes over the years. People like me are treated well overseas. You lot are a fucking disgrace.
