@makenaMG Hey, love your video! I think your site definitely reflects the mood you wanted, and I loved reading your posts. It was nice hearing your thoughts and about your growth. I agree, writing also had a therapeutic effect on me and your takeaways are words to live by haha
@FitzhughElla Haha applied course material😂 still I loved your video I think your blog looks very nice and same I also thought I would do more art content but ended up like you, doing whatever, but i did appreciate your posts love the way you write and yes funny especially the backgrounder👌
I find the song “Sick Boy” by @TheChainsmokers shows what writing the internet can be like. It arguably touches on projection, identity issues, narcissism, superficiality, search for validation, competition, obsession, anxiety, desensitization, indifference #315GIFs#315weekeight
@Chelsea_Orr17 I find it interesting and a little ironic how social media apps, especially instagram, are meant to "capture the moment", keep memories and share them with others, but I agree with you that just living those moments, truly and freely, feels way more rewarding.
I agree with what everyone is saying so far about the #futureofwriting, and how it seems succinctness and media will have a key place, but I also liked how @FitzhughElla mentioned novels, which made me think of the rise of podcasts and audiobooks, which can be alternatives
I agree with Boyd, I think social media is a tool. It can be used for good or bad, to enrich our lives or to harm them/others'. Benefits depend on what we allow, from whom, when, how. What’s healthy what’s not... Sometimes the line is fine and the answer isnt simple #315WeekEight
In 2020 I definitely felt always-on w/ the news+the isolation. But before and now(2021):✨no✨ bc I dont use social media as much +it was very nerve-racking to check everything (tho I didnt want to be ignorant on world issues) so I wont redo that anytime soon lol. #315WeekEight
I was lowkey dreading the wiki challenge bc although I just needed to add 1-2 sentences, I was scared everything relevant on the pages I considered editing was already there. I also proofread ~20x to check flow, mistakes, etc. but that aside it was cool #ccom315#315wikichallenge
The gaps I see most clearly on wikipedia are about the fact that many pages contain like 30+ minutes worth of reading content while some barely contain 20 seconds of info. I think that comes into play with the biases of what's "important" and therefore researched. #315weekseven
As a kid, I'd always go on wikipedia to learn about things. Then, at school, I was told it's not a reliable/acceptable source. Since then I started to boycott wikipedia (except for recreational purposes) and don't use it as much. I usually rely on its/other sources. #315weekseven
Verifiablity is important because lies and fake news travel fast and a lot, but we can see certain sources eg in the fake news game from last week, that there are trustworthy and questionable sources. Wikipedia could have info from both so it needs to be checked. #315weekseven
