We are approaching the fifth and last biennial election in the Trump era, and the president has asked voters to make it a referendum on him. Let's take a look at his record.

The tiresome and predictable criticism of a pro-Trump bias will come, as it always does when anyone tries to say anything positive about the president, but let me respond with two points. Firstly, one can dislike Trump and still recognize the accomplishments are real and laudable. If personal dislike for the president prevents someone from seeing that, the real bias problem is with them. Secondly, when 92 percent of media coverage on the president is anti-Trump, balance does not come from repeating what is already deafeningly amplified. It comes from stating the parts that are generally ignored.

The successes are significant and seldom discussed; let's look at the record that most of the press won't print:
• The illegal immigration crisis at the border has been ended
• With it, there has been a dramatic reduction in the horrors of human trafficking, the inflow of lethal narcotics, and cash flowing into the pockets of violent drug cartels.
• Inflation has been cut sharply from Biden levels.
• Crime rates across the country are much lower, with murder rates at a 70-year low.
• Capital has poured into the US in job-creating investment, and no advanced country has generated greater economic growth.
• The country has been liberated from climate theater without abandoning environmental protection.
• Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran have all been stripped of their usefulness as Russo-Chinese allies.
• The Iranian regime is being strangled (and its terrorist proxies with it) at almost no cost in American lives and only slight use of American ordnance. Despite the shrill mantra of the more radical isolationists, Trump kept his word: no forever war, no Iraq 2.0.
• Along with the Abrahamic Accords, Board of Peace and other diplomatic initiatives, despite current tensions, the scaffolding for future peace in the Middle East is the strongest it has been in decades.
• NATO has been reformed from a ragtag of slackers into a self-financing alliance.
• Ukraine has been armed to the point that Russia is fighting a war it looks increasingly unable to win, and the Russians have been forced to import gasoline and diesel for the first time in a generation because of its hobbled oil refining capacity.

This is one of the most persuasive lists of accomplishments of any two-term president since Theodore Roosevelt in 1906.

That a president with this strong a record can still have such a low approval rating is unprecedented and owes to one of his greatest short-comings – the messaging problem. President Trump can draw a crowd and dazzle his supporters like no president since FDR. What he has not yet been able to manage effectively, is use a direct Oval Office address, with a nonpartisan tone, to outline the national interest and ask for the support of the American people for his worthy objectives. Perhaps he is keeping his powder dry. If so, this is the month to use it.

Would you agree that national media treats NYC, DC, and LA as representing how all concerned live and think in the United States of America?
Politics, sports, weather, fashion, crime, urban issues, and the economy all get filtered through those three Camelot places: DC, LA, NYC.
News concerning the Midwest, South, and Mountain West mostly show up when they fit a coastal agenda. "Look at how backwards those living outside the Camelot Three think and live. "Flyover country folk are just not worth reporting on. Those citizens exist to support large metro areas."
Local news isn’t a substitute. They mostly parrot Camelot.
What do you think — do we actually get national reporting from all 50 states because Camelot doesn't actually care about us?

So in the past 36 hours, the Washington Post has published articles based on:

1. Illegal leaks of highly classified military planning data, obtained by someone who almost certainly knew they were committing a serious felony with possible punishments including death. Do you think the Washington Post cares? Do they have a conscience?

2. Illegal access by WaPo's Dastardly Dam Lamothe of sensitive personnel data on the "Pentagon system" (Dastardly Dan's words, not mine) of former temporary federal "Special Government Employees" who were and are now private citizens. I'm guessing the person who granted such illegal access has no idea he or she committed a criminal misdemeanor. Do you think Dastardly Dan or anyone else in the WaPo warned that stooge of the possible consequences of what he or she was doing? Probably not. Do you think the Washington Post cares? Do they have a conscience?

Do you understand now why it is that the Pentagon needed to shut off unaccompanied Pentagon access to cretinous "journalists" who care not one bit about national security, or the lives of our dedicated service men and women, or statutory privacy rights of private citizens?

Does it finally make sense?

Over many years, we have a habit of stepping in and stopping our allies from defeating their enemies (which are often our enemies, as well).  Israel comes to mind.  Now, Ukraine is on the offensive and taking the war that Putin started to the Russians.  What no one is saying, at least too few, is that if this keeps up, Putin might be finished.  He might be taken out by his own security apparatus.  If Putin won't agree to end his war against Ukraine, then let us at least give Ukraine more time to do what it is doing.  

It is also clear that Zelensky was under-estimated by our establishment and others.  As with Netanyahu, when the history books are written, he will be seen as a great wartime leader.  Nobody gave Ukraine a chance.  They were wrong.

As I know all too well, AG Blanche's contention that "anybody who feels as though the govt. has committed a tort against them can sue," is hollow.
I've spent over a decade in court under 4 administrations suing DOJ over the proven govt. intrusions into my computers, with irrefutable forensics, admission from an ex-agent, and more. But all a layperson gets when trying to hold govt. accountable is a million dollar+ legal bill.
The courts let the govt. miss any deadline with impunity and have every latitude, while the US citizen gets no benefit of any leniency and, conversely, has the harshest rules applied even when meeting all deadlines.
The govt. itself gets automatic immunity which we had to overcome (and successfully did) in a lengthy and expensive process.
But after that, govt officials (Holder/Rosenstein) got automatic immunity. The immunity law was not intended to protect officials committing crimes as part of their job, it was intended to protect govt. officials from constant nuisance lawsuits. The law or its interpretation needs to change so that regular citizens who are wronged can get accountability.
The courts take the word of a convicted felon (in my case an ex-Secret Service agent who was part of the operation and ended dup serving time in prison for unrelated corruption and crimes). He PINKY PROMISES he wasn't involved, and the court uses his statement as a reason to dismiss the case against him.
Another agent who admitted being part of the operation and could have led us to proof of the higher-ups we know were involved, suddenly disappeared/died after we won against him (got a clerk's default).
Before granting discovery, the courts basically make you prove in advance the things you need discovery to be able to prove. It's an illogical loop.
All of this is pre-trial. You never get to go to a jury to show the forensic proof or hear the expert testimony or confession. The courts don't let it get that far.

Oh man… not sure how to write this.

Here it goes.

January of last year, I did something I hadn’t done… ever.

I gave Trump credit for doing something good.

I gave him credit for keeping his promises to us in Western North Carolina.

I could never have imagined the volume of hate and anger I received from doing something that was so obviously the right thing to do.

Just giving credit where credit was due.

Saying thank you.

Since that moment, I’ve learned a lot.

I’ve learned that some of my liberal friends were never friends.

They torched our friendship almost immediately… just for thanking Trump.

I learned that many liberals seem to preach tolerance, but aren’t tolerant of conservative ideas AT ALL, it’s just an act to pretend to be moral.

I learned that the greatest organizations in the world are churches… something that was genuinely UNTHINKABLE even 2 years ago.

I learned that the media just… lies.

They lie constantly and without fear of ever being caught.

I learned this lying comes from a bizarre sense of righteous morality that the lie, in the end, will achieve some good.

I learned they cannot be trusted.

I learned that I offloaded my own critical thinking to these organizations, and that many of the news “stories” I believed were true… never were.

I learned what it means to be swatted.

I learned what it’s like to have some crazed leftists send armed police to my home, with my kids in their beds, at 2AM claiming I had been sh0t and to break down the door.

I learned that the only thing in the world that can change a persons mind is kindness is action… because that’s what changed mine.

I learned that kindness is telling the truth, not lying to protect someone’s feelings.

I learned that telling the truth is the most dangerous thing you can do, and that’s why free speech matters so much.

I learned that free speech is never truly free… they will come after your entire life and try to destroy everything in it.

…but it’s worth it

It’s all been worth it.

That is an extraordinarily good observation.

The world wears American culture, watches American culture, listens to American culture, copies American culture, builds businesses modeled after American innovation—and then some smug idiot asks what culture America has.

Meanwhile, someone actually moves here and immediately recognizes what millions of Americans have been conditioned to sneer at.

At this point, I am prepared to negotiate.

We will trade Hasan Piker, AOC, Mehdi Hasan and Ilhan Omar for her.

Gen. Jack Keane with a blunt wake-up call this morning: we keep judging the pain threshold on Iran through our Western lens — the blockade’s daily economic damage, the collapsing currency and runaway inflation. We assume at some point they will fold their hand.

Wrong.

This is an Islamic regime that doesn't care what its people suffer.

"They have an ideology that they're holding to. They absolutely believe right now that they have the upper hand."

Even if they signed concessions, "we already have evidence that they won't comply with it."

And the part that should concentrate every mind: "They're going to get more violent because as we get closer to the midterms, they want to create a volatile situation that demonstrates that the administration is not managing the war properly."

A win for Iran is damaging the White House at the ballot box. They have always been finely tuned to American political resolve.

Keane is clear-eyed about the reality we face.

I woke up and as I had my morning coffee, I realized that everything is about to change. No matter how I vote, no matter what I say, something evil has invaded our nation, and our lives are never going to be the same.

I have been confused by the hostility of family and friends. I look at people I have known all my life--so hate-filled that they agree with opinions they would never express as their own. I think that I may well have entered the Twilight Zone.

You can't justify this insanity. We have become a nation that has lost its collective mind!

• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.

• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.

• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.

• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.

• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.

• Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.

• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?!

Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus, but it racist to refer to it as Chinese even though it began in China.

We are clearly living in an upside down world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where moral is immoral and immoral is moral, where good is evil and evil is good, where killing murderers is wrong, but killing innocent babies is right.

Wake up America, the great unsinkable ship Titanic America has hit an iceberg, is taking on water, and is sinking fast. The choice is yours to make. What will it be? Time is short, make your choice wisely!

Government does not grant liberty. It recognizes it, protects it, and is itself restrained by it.

America's Constitution wasn't written just to keep kings in check. It was written to keep power in check.

The Founders knew something history has proven over and over again: liberty usually isn't lost in one dramatic moment. It slips away a little at a time as government grows, power becomes more centralized, and constitutional guardrails are slowly pushed aside.

That's why they gave us a government of limited, enumerated powers. That's why they divided authority between the states and the federal government, separated the branches, protected private property, and guaranteed our rights in the Bill of Rights. They weren't trying to make government weak. They were trying to keep it from becoming too powerful.

That's the lens through which I look at the platform of the Democratic Socialists of America.

To me, many of its major proposals move authority away from individuals, families, local communities, and the states, and toward Washington. I don't see that as a small policy disagreement. I see it as a fundamental departure from the constitutional design the Founders gave us.

If someone wants to expand the power of the federal government, the burden isn't on me to prove why we should keep the Constitution's guardrails. The burden is on them to explain why those guardrails should be weakened.

Reasonable people can disagree. I don't question anyone's motives. But after spending years studying the Constitution, the Founders, history, economics, and political philosophy, I've reached my conclusion.

When it comes to the choice between concentrated power and constitutional liberty—

Count me with the Founders.
