In 1991 the game Space Quest 4 was created by Rod Nakamoto and Satoshi Uesaka.

In this game, which is about time travel, they use a digital coin called ‘Buckazoids’

Its logo looks almost identical to the Bitcoin logo.

A man named Hal Finney, a cryptographer, cypherpunk and video game developer…reportedly consulted on this game.

Hal Finney was the very FIRST person to ever receive Bitcoin.

He has passed away and his body is held in a cryochamber awaiting a cure for ALS.

Bitcoin is also kept in ‘cold storage’.

So…did Hal Finney steal the idea and logo for Bitcoin from Space Quest 4…and create a fake identity by simply mashing up the two top developers names?

Pas ngeluarin white paper setelah Krisis Finansial 2008 (timing yg pas bgt), dia ngomong ke komunitas teknis kriprografi. Fokusnya sengaja ditulis murni super teknis n netral. Yaitu suatu solusi teknis pembayaran antar perorangan tanpa pihak ketiga yg hrs dpercaya. Blm ada muatan politis/filosofis Krn produknya aja blm tentu jalan krn udh banyak usaha buat ky gini dulu tp selalu gagal. Fokusnya cuma 'ini ada tool baru, silakan uji bekerja apa ga'..

Baru lah dia nyentil secata halus di blok Genesis masukin pesan ttg bailout bank 2009..

Setelah protokolnya jalan, baru lah di post2 berikutnya Satoshi mulai ngomong soal sistem uang yg berdasarkan trust, inflasi, n kelemahan2 sistem keuangan tradisional. 

Tapi disitu pun dia ga pernah secara eksplisit bilang Bitcoin bakal hancurin fiat meski dia pernah imply bahwa Bitcoin bisa jadi barang 'niche' atau berdampingan dulu. 

Yang terjadi tuh krn secara filosofis Bitcoin nyambung dengan para adopter awal para adopter awal (libertarian, ekonom mazhab Austrian, para pendukung emas/sound money), makanya muncul narasi "replace fiat" krn mrk udh muak dengan sistem fiat modern dan baru skrg nemu sesuatu yg punya kesempatan lah at least utk bersaing. Satoshi pun kemudian menghilang sebelum narasi besar ini jadi tema besar di publik. 

Dan jujur aja memang para pencipta biasanya sering ga tau dampak penuh ciptaannya nanti..

Gutenberg si pencipta mesin cetak modern, meski cuma seorang pedagang n teknisi logam, mana pernah tau n bilang bahwa ciptaannya itu bakal bisa memicu revolusi global, reformasi agama, sampai akhirnya memungkinkan sistem keuangan modern berbasis kertas n fiat secara global. 

Dan mengingat sistem keuangan fiat modern ini umurnya aja baru 55 tahun, jauh dibanding sejarah manusia dan uang, para pendukung Bitcoin yg merhatiin sejarah ga terlalu halu utk bayangin bakal ada perubahan sistem lagi di masa depan.

Jd bisa aja Bitcoin bukan pada awalnya dibuat untuk ngehancurin sistem lama, tapi utk ngasih pilihan dan jalan keluar wkt org2 mulai ragu ama sistem lama.
