@Annaa_Mitchell I haven’t used social media in the classroom. It’s hard to do for a few reasons, 1 our district blocks all social media on school devices, 2 I don’t use social media much myself. So for those w reasons I never really dug any deeper into trying to get familiar with them #wuedt6020

@shari_a_morgan For the kinesthetic learner, any tool that lets them be creative would be useful. Creating screencast, 5x5 videos, voice thread, and educreations could all allow learner to develop interactive project that show their knowledge as well as reinforces it. #wuedt6020

@shari_a_morgan I think I’m a visual learner but more so a kinesthetic learner. So from a technological point what lend to this type of learning I think having discussions and creating visuals would gbr the most beneficial. Using tools like Twitter and Flipgrid are good for discussion #wuedt6020

@Miss_A_Goodman That is always an issue I feel comes up at some point in the year. One way I work around it is by allowing that particular student extended time to complete the assignment. I also offer time outside of class for students to come work on the assignments as well. #wuedt6020

@kderitiswilmu One of the ways I’m trying to create a flipped classroom is by using Schoology as a recourse center that has all notes, classwork & homework, answer keys, and video lessons to help lead students through the notes. Ultimately using class time for practice #wuedt6020

@SraRumpSpanish Well by your name I’m taking a guess here and saying your a Spanish teacher. If so you should look into Flipgrid for your Students, they can practice their speaking using this tool by answering prompts posted by you and communicating with each other using short videos. #wuedt6020

@EdTechJen I’m curious I’ve never heard of Google Expedition. What exactly is this and how do you plan to incorporate it in your classroom? And I’ve heard of Nearpod but I don’t have much experience with it. Would love to hear more about these tools and all that they offer #wuedt6020

@olivia_tyndall But as for building my digital portfolio within schoology I’m focusing on just one class this year. I think it would be to hard to digitize all three courses I teach in one year. #wuedt6020

@shari_a_morgan Also like you my long term goal is to build my classroom up digitally so that it can be accessed online by my students anytime. Eventually I’d like to use a flipped classroom approach where students study and take note at home then practice what they’ve learned in class.

@shari_a_morgan Shari that sounds like a good place to start. The Web 2.0 tools are a great way to add some technology into the classroom. I personally like to use sites like Quizizz to do a little formative assessment while playing a game.

@BrittanySantoni Love the long term goal as well, I’ve been slowly working on trying to flip my calculus class. As a math teacher I feel my students get more benefit form practicing in the classroom with me, where I can help and direct them rather then at home. #wuedt6020

@BrittanySantoni I like the idea of using the online tools to make them one not only aware of their current grades but also motivate them raise their grade if need be. Just need to be careful as to not put anyone on the spot and have others shame them for their grades as well. #wuedt6020

Using social media in the classroom to create connections is easily done with apps like Twitter. Students can create accounts just for your class or subject and connect with other classes within the school or state. Similar to how we are doing here #wuedt6020

@LaurenBritting2 @schoolcheff Haha yeah with 5 kids I don’t know if I’d add a stranger to the mix just yet. But I do agree, there is a lot of potential there to broaden your kids cultural knowledge and hopefully the exchanges students as well. #wuedt6020

@LaurenBritting2 @SarahQJ I didn’t even think of haven’t the parents attached when I first thought about adding twitter but, that’s a fantastic way to show them what their kids are learning in school these days. Might even allow them to study up so they are more prepared to help at home wuedt6020
