@RealGeneKim I tried Snaggit, Shottr, and Cleanshot, but keep going back to Xnip, b/c it lets me screenshot and annotate with the fewest keys/clicks and freezes the screen at the point of capture. I can't speak to video capture, though.

When you're young, it's easy to assume it was the present way from the beginning. But the older you get, the more you see change, and realize that's not the case.
