Florida is 1 of only 10 states that still hasn't expanded Medicaid. Nearly 800,000 working Floridians fall into a coverage gap — earning too much for Medicaid, too little for marketplace subsidies. It's time to let voters decide. Request your petition → https://t.co/DBaeMvRtVR
Rural Florida hospitals are struggling to survive. When hospitals close, entire communities lose access to care. Medicaid expansion would bring billions in federal funding to Florida — and help keep rural hospitals open. Request your petition → https://t.co/wskkDSLkR7
Florida has one of the highest uninsured rates in the country. Hundreds of thousands of working adults have no coverage at all. Medicaid expansion would help nearly 800,000 of them. Tallahassee said no. Let voters decide. Request your petition → https://t.co/wskkDSLSGF

I just wrote a letter to @FERC calling Bullshit on their Blanket Certificate rules. FERC says these are just for small projects and administrative changes. But they're rubber stamping massive #LNG and #datacenter projects. Write a comment here: https://t.co/A9TcowU12u

Everest Update!
Everest is the kitty that was attacked by two dogs. For a kitty who was attacked, he is in pretty decent shape. He has A LOT of bruising along with a broken pelvis and broken leg.
Once he has healed up a bit, he will need FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery.
My father understood that the ballot is not passive. It is one way we help shape justice, leadership, and the future of our communities.
On Election Day, let us not only remember his call to march on ballot boxes. Let us answer it.
Vote. Stay engaged. Encourage someone else to do the same.

Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through — and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!
A new report revealed that Trump’s ballroom will cost $600 million, with over half that coming from taxpayers.
That’s despite his initial claims that taxpayers wouldn’t pay a dime and it would only cost $400 million.
Here’s what else you should know about his vanity project…

We offered Putin to meet anywhere where real decisions to end the war could be made. He does not want it.
We discussed with the U.S. and France the possibility of a meeting with Russia around the G7, with all democratic nations represented. Putin does not want it.
Yesterday, we discussed with President Trump that such a meeting could be organized in the U.S. – in a format where Putin would find it much harder to refuse at least to President Trump.
We will see what comes of it. If Russia refuses this chance as well, additional pressure will be needed.

In 1946, Isaac Woodard, WWII veteran, hours after being honorably discharged, was attacked by South Carolina police while still in uniform when taking the bus home & left permanently BLIND The officers were acquitted by an all white jury.
—Isaac enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C, and served in the Pacific Theater as a longshoreman in a labor battalion. In February 1946, the decorated soldier received an honorable discharge at Camp Gordon, which is located near Augusta, Georgia.
Along with other discharged soldiers, Woodard boarded a Greyhound bus on February 12 to travel home. A conflict was triggered when the white bus driver belittled the army veteran for asking to take a bathroom break.
At the next stop, Woodard was met by the Chief Linwood Shull of the Batesburg, South Carolina police. While still in his army uniform, the police forcibly removed him from the bus and arrested him for disorderly conduct.
They beat Woodward, and the next day he was convicted of 'drunken and disorderly conduct' and fined $50. They also refused to take him to hospital after beating him for several days. The beatings that he suffered while in police custody caused him Permanent Blindness.

Ready to go to Congress to fight Trump’s fascism, abolish ICE & stand up to the billionaires rigging our economy.
Let’s win a city everyone can afford, and where everyone is welcome. #NY10Debate
I’m honored to be endorsed once again by Senator Bernie Sanders as I run to return to Congress to keep fighting for St. Louis’ families.
Bernie knows that for too long, MAGA billionaires and powerful right-wing lobbies have been allowed to rig the economy against everyday people.
#COTD Mr. P tested positive for both FeLV and FIV after being found as a stray in Springfield, Ohio. He was a stray & sustained damage to his right ear from a hematoma that didn't heal properly. He's a super laidback guy who loves to play!

Join Bumpy for his first dip of the day!
Flanked by Keepers Festus and Jackson, our little hippo hurried out of his stable and made a beeline for his personal pool. He briefly considered a nap between Jackson’s legs, thought the better of it, and dove right into the day, with a cute boop for good measure.
Bumpy is one of our newest arrivals. His mother died, likely in a territorial fight defending her baby’s life. He spent at least a day huddled by her body before the Kenya Wildlife Service rescued him and brought him into our care.
You can become part of Bumpy’s journey. Read his full rescue story and support him through an adoption: https://t.co/qAEjrv65WE
