Gluten and lactose intolerance often occur together. We're happy to see cafes in India increasingly provide plant-based milk alternatives.
Still, please remember that oat milk is not safe for Celiacs and it's best to stick to almond, soy, or other nut-based milk options.
Eating out as a Celiac?
The app /website @findmegf is frankly a great resource for finding gluten-free restaurants. You can look-up nearby spots to eat or search for locations to plan your travel. It has crowdsourced reviews from Celiacs from around the world #glutenfree
Great news from Italy! They're starting a program to test everyone from 1-17 for #celiac disease. This is a win for the entire, global celiac community; results from there could influence whether or not similar programs spread elsewhere.

@pseudo_sapiens@Finelychopped Labelling in India is a joke. We have great ingredients listing policies and allergen listing one's too but no accountability whatsoever. For the last 13 yrs I have read every label cos of Celiac Disease. Even now I have to spend my own money & test products so I don't get sick.
Yes, we need to provide plant based milk alternatives but please don’t *default* to oat milk in cafes or office coffee machines. Oat milk can have gluten & it isn’t safe for Celiacs (affects > 1 in 100 people). And if you must do it, please write it clearly!
@ClientsRATP I was fined at the end of my underground journey for having an "invalid" ticket even though I clearly remember validating my ticket at the boarding station. Maybe the machine had a problem, but it opened the doors for me to enter the platforms. Where can I complain?
@airindiain @jetairways We were served Chicken in the gluten-intolerant meal at both @jetairways @airindiain DESPITE stating in the comments that we need Vegetarian
