"Campuses: Modern data center developments are increasingly multi-building campuses, with some spanning over 40 acres and totaling up to 4.05 million square feet. These are what are now being built in Virginia.
Power Correlation: Size is closely tied to power capacity, with large data centers requiring 100+ megawatts of power, enough to supply roughly 25,000 homes."
🚨 GOV. DESANTIS: “If we had [Flock cameras] around the country when COVID happened, you absolutely would have saw those turned on people who were outside of lockdown orders … Oh, you didn't take your vax? You can't go here.”
Virginia already has roughly 650 data centers.
Meanwhile, groundwater monitoring in counties with the highest number of these centers, such as Loudoun County found an average decline of about 22 feet in Waterford from 2006–2021. In Middleburg, roughly one-third of measured wells declined more than 85 feet compared with 2004.
Yesterday President Trump declared that communities resisting data centers apparently want to be “backwards and poor.”
No.
People who don't want their farmland industrialized, their power bills increased, and their water resources put at risk aren't backwards.
They are protecting their communities.
Virginia has been the data-center experiment.
Before we volunteer the rest of rural America for it, perhaps we should find out what that experiment has actually cost.
Flock cameras are just another step towards a security state.
And frankly, I am rather disgusted by so many "conservative" influencers coming out in support of them.
Huxley’s Brave New World imagined a society in which technological control became so normalized that people ceased to recognize it as control at all.
Brave New Flock has an added irony: some of the loudest defenders of a privately operated, nationwide surveillance infrastructure now call themselves conservatives.
There is nothing conservative about teaching Americans to accept ubiquitous cameras, centralized databases, automated tracking, and the routine recording of innocent people’s movements simply because the technology is sold under the banner of fighting crime.
A conservative instinct once began with suspicion of concentrated power, especially the power to watch citizens who had done nothing wrong. Apparently, for a new class of “conservative” influencer, that principle is negotiable.
The consequence is that measles in the elderly has never been observed in a substantial population whose immunity derives primarily from childhood vaccination, because until now no such elderly population has existed. Before vaccination, the question could not be studied either, since nearly everyone was infected by adolescence. We therefore have almost no direct evidence of what measles susceptibility, disease severity, or mortality will look like when vaccine-derived immunity reaches old age.
It’s amazing how negative the news is.
We’re creating the most advanced intelligence the world has ever known and it’s freely accessible so you can solve every day problems, we are curing cancer (even ugliness if you have a little money), and making space travel possible. You can live anywhere in the world and stay connected by phone or video. Literally instant communication. You can instantly translate any language. You can get technology that was unimaginable a few decades ago for a couple hundred bucks. You can listen to any music, video, or educational material with a click. Food is cheap and plentiful and you can even power an off grid home fully with just solar power. We have clean air and water. We even have advanced warning for many natural disasters.
🧵 On June 26, PA Gov. Josh Shapiro handed a vaccine manufacturer a $10.6M grant.
60 days later he stood in Lancaster County blaming RFK Jr. for two "measles-associated" deaths.
Nobody at the podium mentioned the money.

NEW - Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons: “I spoke at length this morning with the coroner himself, and they have zero cases of measles deaths … They had one patient who died with measles, not of measles.”
