The @USNavy and Shield AI have committed $400 million to advance X-BAT toward flight testing.

The Navy’s latest $150 million modification supports Defense Exportability Features, building exportability and technology protection into X-BAT early in its development. Shield AI is matching that amount.

Along with a separate $50 million Navy and @DIU_x action announced in August, the two funding actions total $200 million in government support and $200 million in Shield AI investment.

Shield AI and key suppliers now have 500 engineers building the flight-test aircraft. Flight testing begins this year.

Very excited to start sharing some of the work we have been doing at Amazon FAR. In this work we present OmniRetarget, which can generate high-quality interaction-preserving data from human motions for learning complex humanoid skills.

High-quality re-targeting really helps the reinforcement learning.

Why? The control policy optimization landscape is much nicer for (near)feasible trajectories than for trajectories with artifacts like (e.g.) foot skating or ground penetration.

Really enjoyed speaking with @Melissahei at @VivaTech last week about the future of AI and the work we’re doing at Amazon. One thing is clear: for AI to truly help people, it has to earn our trust. That means being competent, reliable, transparent – and having the humility to say “I don’t know” when it’s uncertain.

We’re not just building systems that follow commands. Agents need good judgment. They must understand context, respect cultural nuance, and learn over time. In essence, we’re teaching them human values because the bar for trusting AI should be just as high as it is for trusting people.
