Wear a mask. As good a mask as you can get, as often as you can in public, especially indoors. If you need a mask reach out to @DonateMask .
Wear a mask. Save children.
@ayabi15@yaghsizian@baalzamon35 Yes sometimes people make poor or uninformed choices. Maybe they weren't paying attention, made a mistake or had no capacity to decide meaningfully. We, society at large, should always try to help those people, even at risk to ourselves.
@CrossingBlaydes@Prowl8413 And what about the people who don't understand the choice and might pick blue? The safer option is for everyone who does understand to pick blue, protecting those who don't understand.
Your job is not foreign policy, nor do Ontarians give a rat's ass about your bizarre obsession with alcohol. They want to know what's on your cell phone. They want to know why you're ruining public education and healthcare. They want their groceries and rent to be affordable.
@avilewis Earth Day is a great day to kick off another campaign for Right to Repair. We should be able to fix and adapt the things we own, regardless of the profit motives of the companies that sell them. Printer ink/toner refills, parts pairing, authorized lockouts. All need to end.
@danielcberk@Spotify What I really want is multiple "listening profiles" because kids music is just one of my use cases.
But kids mode is an obvious one that most video services already have. And no "Spotify Kids" the separate app is not it, the experience is entirely different.
@ConvoN5Bucks@David_Moscrop It's really not that different. You also have to maintain the postal network (depots, sorting equipment, routes, post offices, knowledgeable staff) even when people are sending fewer letters and parcels.
Postal service is baseline civilization infrastructure.
@Oliaros2@MaritStiles No, the best way to beat this is to make it illegal. People shop different ways. They shouldn't be subject to unfair and predatory pricing.
One of the great parts of proportional representation, when we eventually get there live every other advanced democracy, is that majority governments will be exceedingly rare. The best government work comes from compromise.
I don't think it's ethical to build a majority government through floor crossings and I think democracy works better when we have minority governments with opposition MPs working together to best reflect the interests of Canadians who voted them in and scrutinizing legislation
@levelsio Touch input should be banned while in motion. Fine for navigation set up while parked, but all control while moving should be fixed buttons around the display.
This is *monstrous* for so many reasons. Forced unnecessary and unwanted major surgery. After putting her on trial live *during labour* from the hospital bed. Without legal support. Truly unconscionable and barbaric.
THREAD: Cherise Doyley was in her 12th hour of contractions at the hospital when a tablet was brought to her bedside.
On the screen was a Zoom call with a judge and several lawyers and doctors.
She was in court, a nurse told her. The reason? For failing to agree to a C-section.
@peggy_blair@TomPark1n Everything you said is why the government should build and operate social housing directly, instead of subsidizing private companies to do a worse job of it at higher cost to residents until the inevitable rugpull for fully privatized profit and screwing the residents over.
We donโt want fucking spas, convention centers, or tunnels under the 401, you lunatic we want fully funded healthcare and education.
What the HELL is wrong with you?
@fordnation
@Yuplifeishell@broadwaybabyto Your mistake is looking at a single interaction, rather than the system.
> If the doctor says...
These are functionally equivalent, and considered in aggregate are structural coercion. If the system will offer death, but not sufficient support to live, that's not a real choice.
@Mags00021130@NoLore If MAID is suggested to a disabled patient who wants to live, but cannot afford to do so with our insufficient disability benefits, so that the alternative is legislated poverty, is that really a free choice?
To be clear, I am supportive of MAID overall, but it needs changes.
