@RetiredFireCa @CarsonHocevar In the '80s, it was great on Fridays to drive on the 60 to Palm Springs from Los Angeles, and see part of the track. Then they built the shopping center and gradually we started driving I-10 to and from L.A. to P.S.

@bobpockrass I worked at Epson America, in Torrance, CA, in the '80s and '90s. Shige's mother, Mrs Hattori, built a tremendous office building in Torrance, that served as the headquarters of Epson America. It was far ahead of it's time.
Shige was very devoted to auto racing.

@MW55 In reality, Riverside had the best long, right hander. Riverside was close to Palm Desert back then, so I liked Riverside. But I really liked the Tony Sterwart fiasco at Sonoma. Spent a half hour with Cale the year they missed the race. Toss up.
