@louisemegant It’s basically to stop house prices escalating so fast - that money might as well go into public coffers rather than banks collecting interest. If you took it away tmr that 10k on stamp duty would probably be another 10/20/30k on the purchase price

@msolwilliams Fuel duty is frozen to combat inflation - putting 1 or 2p on a litre isn't going to change one single car use in a wealthy city like london.

It does effect the cost of shipping and moving goods.

@imajez1 @LiamCalvert Yes but they (generally) put a nice organised car park that is convient to use and doesn't cost you the GDP of a small island nation to use. Or come to london where we are closing the car parks at the tube stations in the suburbs!

@Aperta They are clearly judging experience into it as well (look at Collapinto). This was Piastri's second win (and the first was quite a managed team orders affair) he overtook for the lead and held it for 30 laps of intense pressure. Hard to top that right?

Medical staff don't pay for their own insurance, building, equipment etc. They don't pay for their own admin (IE accountants, quoting etc.).

Its a massive false equivilancy here.

Thats not why GB News consistenly fails to operate as a news channel and why its under threat.
