There is a new laziness trend
Asking if AI will replace security researchers
You could’ve been working hard towards your goal instead of getting consumed by your fear. Choose your actions wisely.
I’ve been getting a lot of DMs from new auditors who feel discouraged when they see AI success stories in bug bounties or contests.
Things like: “AI found a bug -> big payout” or “AI helped win a contest.” It makes people wonder if it’s still worth grinding to become a good auditor.
Here’s my take: AI is a tool, not a substitute. At least for now and I believe even in the next 2–4 years, it won’t be able to perform a full audit without knowledgeable humans.
AI can speed you up and surface bugs, but it can’t replace deep reasoning, intuition, or the ability to truly understand complex systems. That’s where skilled auditors shine.
So if you’re new: don’t get discouraged. Keep building your skills, become excellent at the fundamentals, and use AI as leverage. The real advantage will go to auditors who master both.
Recon isn't just Sub enum and dir fuzzing. Go deeper:
- Analyzing JS for hidden endpoints/params.
- Rev-engineering mobile apps - even for just endpoints
- Understanding how different microservices talk to each other.
- Finding old, forgotten dev/staging instances.
Welcome #AI, assume the very low-hanging fruits already gone.

You say you want to get into cybersecurity, but the truth is… you already have the tools at your fingertips. The same tools used by professionals in the field and they won’t cost you a cent to start learning.
You don’t need a fancy certification to begin.
You don’t need a $1,000 course to practice.
You don’t even need the “perfect” setup.
All you need is your laptop, an internet connection, and the decision to start today.
Every day you delay, someone else is learning, practicing, and moving closer to the career you say you want.
Stop waiting for the “right time.”
Stop blaming the lack of resources.
Stop making excuses.
Start now. Learn now. Improve now.
If you are studying web hacking techniques, don't get overwhelmed and don't assume people know all of the attacks and how they all work. EVERYONE needs to Google or lookup stuff during their bug hunting process, or research papers - we are all still learning on a daily basis.
Built some automation and a directory for aggregating bug bounty profiles. Adding your profile isn't open to the public yet but let me know what you think.
