Accuracy of PW–Derived Indices in LMCA Disease @JACCJournals

➡️FFR superior to NHPRs at detecting significant LMCA disease
➡️Discordance rates: iFR 18.1% and Pd/Pa 17.0%, primarily due to false negatives

We hope to have the results of the ORBITA CTO pilot study next year to understand the placebo effect in blinded CTO PCI. @dr_skhan1@rallamee@Dizzledavies73
Kick-starting the new academic year at Attikon Hospital! Let’s dive into recent heart failure trials with highlights from ESC 2024, where RESHAPE-HF2 and FINEARTS-HF were presented, and simultaneously published in NEJM, with our chair and my mentor, @Filippatos playing key roles.
🔹 RESHAPE-HF2:
- M-TEER with MitraClip reduced CV death and HF hospitalizations 🏥 by 41% over 24 months
- Greater benefits seen in patients with recent HF hospitalizations ⏳ (n=505)
🔹 FINEARTS-HF:
- Finerenone in HFpEF (EF ≥40%) reduced worsening HF events and CV death by 18%
- Included 6,001 patients with significant quality of life improvements and low hyperkalemia risk 🧪

We like to find what we believe. My #cathlab highlights from #CAD 2024 European GL:
#radialfirst Class 1A: the end of ‘femoralists”!
#FFR Class 1A in intermediate lesions: the end of 1 angio=1 stent!
#IVUS/#OCT Class 1A for complex #PCI : the end of ‘I don’t need imaging’ guys!
After validating IMRangio against bolus thermodilution IMR, we explore the first non-invasive, angiographic, pressure-wire and microcatheter free method to quantify absolute coronary flow and resistance @GiovanniLuigiD1@DrKeeble@OxAMI_Study@RDMOxford

Excited for the latest edition of #EuroPCR! Great few days of learning ahead and delighted to be presenting our work from @EssexCTC@MSEHospitals....and it begins!
4/5 (Khan et al. 2023)
3 months after CTO PCI, absolute coronary flow improved (30%), and microvascular resistance decreased (16%).
Biggest change was in prior CABG and high eGFR. Smallest change was when extraplaque technique is used (Food for thought!)
