@DavidCastilloAC Robertson is arguably the slowest forward on the team and his puck possession is horrible. Have you ever watched him try and carry across the blue line?
Yes, he's an absolute sniper, but that's literall all he brings to the table.
@seanshapiro This is a mental health disaster just waiting to happen for the Pens. They say they’ve only been apart for 4 days in their life. What could possibly go wrong?
@taylordbaird It could go very wrong. Many things are looked at in arbitration. He could wind up with a 1 year deal and a lack of a NMC. At that point, Nill could move him at any point. Arbitration may NOT be as bad for the team as many people think.
@CBeataE At this point, take him to arbitration - he won't get a NMC in a 1-year arb deal. Them move him wherevery Jim wants for "future considerations" - that'll check an ego faster than you can blink an eye.
@VictoriaEgreen But seriously - Pay him $13.5MM and you're going to have to give up talent around him. Are you good with not even making the playoffs in '26-'27 season? I'm not, and that's exactly what will happen. And we'll lose Bourque. Not good. Can't even really afford the $12MM offered
@VictoriaEgreen Remember that the difference isn't as big one would think. The 42 games played outside of Texas are subject to the income taxes of whatever state/country the games are played in. True story.
@TxForever He wants a bag o' cash. He can take a team-friendly deal at $12MM with the Stars or get a bigger bag elsewhere. Money isn't always everything. Maybe for him it is. Yeah, he's a goal scorer, but there are guys out there available for less that are more complete players.
@ShortHandedZS It's on Robo for choosing a bag o' cash instead of taking a somewhat team-friendly deal. Meh. Dumba's gone. Faksa makes $2MM per year... Bush is at like $4MM. Those aren't the problems. Robo takes the bag, Stars take the draft picks and their cash crunch is over.
