Retired Env/ChE Engineer. Did my part to permit/build/operate Florida’s electric transmission grid, water supply infrastructure & space launch facilities.
@RepHaridopolos@RepHaridopolos I agree we have to grow and build infrastructure in Brevard County. That said, the lack of transparency regarding the location of this pipeline is unacceptable. Please provide that information.
@KentGra88631041 An excellent choice. Enjoy! I add a hot chili rub from RecTec that my husband likes. Another great option is to marinade in ground coffee, salt and pepper (recipe from Meat Church on YouTube).
Melbourne in Brevard County⁉️- that’s a scary prospect. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is the life blood of Brevard County. Melbourne is home to many launch support businesses. If Melbourne falls, so do smaller cities in Brevard, all of which provide support to KSC. If Amendment 3 passes, infrastructure builds to maintain critical supply chains to KSC will eventually slow and launch capability will be affected. It is this kind of County by County analysis that analysis that should have been done.
Brutal honesty from two Florida cities about Amendment 3:
Palm Coast projects a $21.7M loss in 2028. It currently spends about $26.2M on police and fire combined. The projected loss equals roughly 83% of the entire police and fire budget.
Melbourne projects roughly $15M in losses over FY2028-29, with police, fire, roads, parks and emergency services exposed.
Nobody is saying police and fire automatically get cut. That’s the point. If you protect public safety, the cuts or replacement taxes and fees have to come from everything else.
The legislature should have done the math first. Instead, Florida put the question on the ballot and asked 400+ cities to figure out the consequences.

@JeffreyBrandes@PatriotsTLH@TobyOverdorf You’re doing a great job educating the general public. As a third generation Floridian, I’m well aware of the consequences. Your talking points are spot on! Being a lighthouse is a good thing-they are built strong 💪.

Join us for an Amendment 3 teletownhall on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 PM with Congressman Maxwell Frost, State Rep. Anna Eskamani, State Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith and Palm Beach County firefighter and former congressional candidate Bernard Taylor.
Property taxes help fund the first responders who show up when you call 911, and Amendment 3 puts that funding at risk. Our panel will break down what it means for you and your community, then take your questions.
Every community in Florida will experience different effects if Amendment 3 passes. An analysis on how the Amendment would affect each County was never done. Before you vote to change the Constitution, become knowledgeable about the aftermath for everyone, including yourself.
Former Key Biscayne Mayor Michael Davey makes an important point about Amendment 3.
Florida has 411 cities and 67 counties. Some will survive the financial shock. Others will be forced to cut services, raise fees, consolidate, disincorporate, or become permanent dependents of Tallahassee.
I’m all for smaller, more accountable government. But you don’t achieve that by blindly dismantling local government without understanding the consequences.
The Legislature never modeled the community-by-community impacts.
That’s not tax reform. That’s fiscal malpractice.
"I'M CALLING IT ISAIAH": Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he did not know how to pronounce Hurricane Isaias, calling it "weird" during a press conference in Miami.

That’s because our GOAT governor @RonDeSantis knows how to make it happen and our GOAT Florida Utilities including @insideFPL and @OUCreliableone are ready and able.
Florida ain't messing around! The state is ready for Major Hurricane Isaias. Never seen so many lineman ready to rock n' roll. Word is 5000+ trucks just here alone. Escambia County near Pensacola.
@GovRonDeSantis@SenAshleyMoody To our next Governor- listen and learn how it’s done.
In all my years in Florida, I’ve never had a better governor than @RonDeSantis. He will be sorely missed.
