What kills people in India changes dramatically with age. Infant deaths are dominated by birth complications and infections, injuries and suicide take a heavy toll on young adults, while heart disease, stroke, cancer and lung disease dominate later life.

Saying software is dead because everyone can create it with agents is like saying movies are dead because billions of ppl have a high res video camera in their pockets
Movies doing better than ever+more ppl make a living from videos, movies, TV than ever
(Analogy from @simonw)
Saying software is dead because anyone can build it is like saying photography is dead now that everyone in the world has a camera in their pocket
Not only is it not dead it's the beginning of the Kodak Brownie moment for software, and we will see an absolute explosion of it
It will be the first generation for who building software will feel no different than using it. This is crazy!
The quality and bar of what we expect from our everyday apps will be raised dramatically, we'll have personal software, we'll have disposable software, and agents will be the foundation for most of it
Tech has always been chaotic and evolving, the people who have been able to adapt and move in front of new opportunities have always excelled, this is nothing new, I'm seeing it now and we'll see it 10 years from now
Find the opportunities in the chaose and disruption, there are countless of them
@iamgingertrash We may move from buying and configuring software to generating software around an objective. Not for every use case, and certainly not for highly regulated or mission-critical systems, but probably for a very large amount of internal and workflow software.
@signulll Just wrote about this today.
AI isn't making software irrelevant, but it is reducing the cost of reproducing software functionality at a pace I don't think most companies have fully internalized yet.
"The problem is architects building structures to impress other architects --but plumbers don't act on impressing other plumbers. Any activity where agents impress peers (architects, academia) rather than satisfying the needs constituents ends up rotting. " - @nntaleb
Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends.
I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two.
To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work.
I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up.
People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized.
Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two.
I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit.
Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity.
I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health.
Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission.
If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs.
A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏
Grown men asking the other to lend their credit card to buy a phone as it will give them some discount is funny.
The kind of credit card gymnastics people do to get a Rs 400 discount on a flight ticket. Or a lounge access to have a free samosa. These are well paid professionals mind you.
It’s not actually the savings in money, it’s just about feeling smart. Ahead of the curve. Having a bragging point, to tell your friend. Life is filled with these status games.
