HR software startup Deel, which helps companies manage global payroll, compliance, and hiring, raised $300 million at a $17.3 billion valuation led by Ribbit Capital with a16z and Coatue participating.
The raise comes amid a legal fight with rival Rippling, which accused Deel’s CEO of spying, an allegation Deel denies and countersued over.
Despite the controversy, Deel has surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue and plans to grow staff by 20% next year while expanding its AI-driven HR platform.

Canaccord Genuity Reiterates Buy Rating on $HIMS, PT $68
Analyst comments: "Although HIMS shares have more than doubled YTD, the stock is down over 20% since late July, reflecting concerns about slowing core growth. We believe these fears, while understandable, stem from a short-term lens and do not adequately account for Hims' structural advantages and expanding growth vectors.
While the shift of on-demand sexual health subscribers to daily solutions will likely weigh on core growth for another few quarters, we note that (1) this transition improves the stickiness of the subscriber base, (2) sets up easier comps in 2026, and (3) the track record of this management team instills confidence in its ability to successfully add and scale new treatments.
On the GLP-1 side, despite concerns that Novo would sue Hims following the cancelation of their partnership, we are increasingly confident in the durability of this revenue stream, in part reflecting additional regulatory clarity from the FDA as well as a constructive ruling in the Eli Lilly vs. Willow Health case.
With our current model implying just low double-digit annualized core US revenue growth over the next five years, including mid-single-digit growth in FY29 and FY30, we believe there is a good degree of conservatism in our estimates. Additionally, we see multiple levers — including new specialties and treatments, international, compounded GLP-1s, and generic semaglutide — that could reasonably support Hims reaching its FY30 financial targets, and in this note we have outlined two illustrative scenarios that demonstrate alternative pathways for Hims to achieve those targets.
We believe this range of potential growth routes underscores the asymmetry of the investment case, with downside risks seemingly becoming well understood and upside drivers still underappreciated."

France’s top court upheld the country’s 3% digital services tax, dismissing claims it violates equality laws. The levy, expected to raise €774M ($909M) in 2025 from ads, data sales, and intermediary services, has been derided by Trump as discriminatory and comes as France faces a record euro-area budget deficit.
Barclays Upgrades $GM to Overweight from Equalweight, Raises PT to $73 from $55
Analyst comments: "We raise our PT to $73, from $55. In short, we believe that amid easing US EV regulations and resiliency in US SAAR/pricing, GM should see a favorable environment. On EVs, we see opportunity for GM to narrow some of its EV losses (likely $4-5bn). And while the SAAR environment has benefited from pull-forward, we believe it has generally been more resilient than expected, especially in pricing. And combined with an attractive valuation and share buybacks, we believe GM stock should work."
