Like it’d be pretty messed up if the device I was typing this on was also throwing out a specific frequency of light with a specific pattern of flashing designed to activate the amygdalae and increase my suggestibility to political sloganeering, pharmaceutical design, or tech
I have a friend who's really into zfs. She talks a lot about what a great filesystem it is. But she seems to spend most of her time fighting with zfs and zfs snapshots and zfs misconfigurations and "making sure the wrong data isn't erased during startup" ... 1/
Only people from Southern Colorado and New Mexico eat Red Chile with chuck roast and potatoes. Mix of Pueblo Red Chilies and Chimayo Chilies. One you get north of Pueblo this doesn't exist.
@astridwilde There was no reason for me to leave the table and go outside. No reason to walk to my car. But if I hadn’t done those things, nobody would have been there to help my daughter when she was relentlessly attacked by a swarm of hornets.
"Noteworthy prosecutions by Ortiz include those of Whitey Bulger, Tarek Mehanna, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, as well as the controversial prosecution of Aaron Swartz which resulted in his suicide." Anyways, just thought it was interesting she shows up for another weird bomb case.
My $.02 select 12 American citizens at random, fly them to a secure location, give them all a golden ticket security clearance to review each and every SAP, allow them to determine which ones close and which ones run, swear them to secrecy about the rest & monitor them for life

frankly I never asked for the ability to predict and anticipate certain aspects of the future and often times it is a drag to be about 2-4 years ahead of the zeitgeist but for you, dear reader, it means you’re well prepared subscribe to “the hunt for tom

Not just a grumpy unix greybeard here.
I'm against #systemd (and similar mega-components like btrfs) because they destroy Unix composability: small, replaceable tools that lone hackers/small teams can actually fix, extend, or rewrite.
Huge multi-million loc systems become anti-foss: too complex for individuals, owned & directed by whoever has the money & manpower.
Capitalism fine, but anti-hacker centralization is not.
