There will be a lot of lazy coverage about the money Tom Steyer spent in the governor's race. Fine.
But here's another dollar figure that matters: $55 million.
That's how much corporate interests spent against Tom and for others to maintain the status quo in Sacramento.
Any other viable progressive would've been sunk by far less in business IE spending. It took them spending more than has ever been spent against a single candidate in a California primary to stop him.
That tells you everything about the lengths some will go to hold onto power, and everything about the lengths we have to go to make big change for the people who need it most.
Onward.
I worked for Cory Booker on the campaign trail and (and I say this with love) that man drinks enough caffeine on a normal day to stay up 72 hours. This could go a while.
when I moved to LA and didn't know anybody I used to go around to the boulders that fell on the sidewalks and put my shoes under them and send the photos to people and say: "your friend is stuck under this"
