So in eviction court this week, i rep’d 7 families from a single complex. I got all of them dismissed bc the landlord didn’t follow the law. Directly after my cases, 3 more tenants from the same place, pro se, presented the exact same arguments. But they were evicted.

I have witnessed this first hand. It’s essentially the same as doctors committing Medicare fraud. Landlords doubling/tripling their rent when applying for rent relief with their tenants, then the tenants are stuck in a lease the know they can’t afford.

My client and her 4 children were evicted for nonpayment of rent today at 2:30pm. The new CDC order, which would’ve covered her, was published today at 5:30pm. Her belonging are already out, she and her kids already displaced.
