@EdwynCollins@marcrileydj@sparksofficial C’mon “bone in Edinburg” sounds like a new album title 😜! I was also born there 2 years before you and always a fan of Sparks and t’Fall. What happened to your collaboration?
@PhysInHistory I think I’ve loved science, physics and electronic engineering all my life. Really startled to understand it at Uni.however been experimenting with lights, baterries, motors etc since pre school 😜.
@PhysInHistory Well I’ve only got to spend 10 minutes with my dogs to realise they’re far more intelligent and aware than we usually give them credit for. Also, they dream! How do they reconcile that with real life?
@gunsnrosesgirl3 No body can, because it’s in a total nonsense format that could lead to loads of answers. Naturally, you’d use parentheses to indicate specific calculations, then rely on order of operators, which are not well understood.
@PhysInHistory Really interesting comments. I think some folk mistake engineers for technicians, like fixing toasters or solving massive technical issues. Engineers use physics, maths, logic and anything we can get our hands on. Good example is relativity to make the GPS satellite system work.
@PhysInHistory I’ll stick with Einstein. He came up with the most extraordinary stuff through thought experiments, unlike Planck who did it by accident. Whoever gets to the bottom quantum gravity will be a hero/heroine!
@PhysInHistory Reliance on maths seems to be the wrong way to investigate the quantum world. I much prefer the thought experiments of Einstein in relativity, leading to a mathematical model that does not yet explain quantum gravity. Loads of clever folk have tried stuff like String Theory.
@kiwialliance Naturally, politicians seldom write their own speeches. It’s put together based on a bunch of points supplied to their officials. Can only imagine officials got lazy and the PM didn’t notice?
