We sometimes come across situations where another mutual air group or organization has nearly everything set - but they need one component of support to serve the people. Like a team on the ground that we came across during one of our Medical Committee assessments - they already had the medical staff, the supplies, and the funding for medication, but they were missing the structure that allows them to serve.

In Khan Younis, we were asked to support a new medical point in an underserved area, in Jinan Camp 6, this camp cluster is home to thousands.

They had the doctors. They had the medication. They had the will to begin. What they needed was a field tent. So The Sameer Project provided a large field tent from our storage to help make this medical point operational.

This is what mutual aid means: listening to the needs of the community, cooperating with existing teams, and filling the gaps that make care possible.

Baby Belsan Issa, 40 days old, is facing a critical health condition due to a congenital heart defect and severe infections that threaten her well-being. She requires medical transfer abroad for specialized care to provide her with a chance to grow and live a normal life.

Alhamdulillah, little Iman Al-Hassi is showing encouraging signs of improvement after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer affecting her abdomen, pelvis, and ovary.

After being medically evacuated to Al Hussein Center in Jordan, doctors drained the fluid that had accumulated in her abdomen, and she began chemotherapy. Despite losing her hair because of the treatment, her small body has responded well. She is gradually regaining her strength, eating, drinking, and slowly returning to some of her normal daily activities.

But her journey is far from over. She still faces a long and difficult course of treatment, and the medical costs are far beyond what her family can afford.

Today, while delivering clean water to families in North Gaza, the area where our team was working came under attack.

What began as a water distribution became a brush with death.

This is the reality of humanitarian work in Gaza. Our teams leave each day not knowing if they will return. They risk their lives so families can drink, cook a meal, clean a wound, or simply survive another day.

In the period after the so called “ceasefire,” the occupation has killed well over 1,000 Palestinians in Gaza. The “safe zone” is not off limits a to the occupation’s attacks and cruelty. Today’s shellings and murders were west of the yellow-line where humanitarian organizations should be able to operate. But the reality on the ground is different. It is the lived daily reality of our team - danger and potential death.

These attacks will not stop The Sameer Project. They will not stop our commitment to reaching the communities that need us most.

May the martyrs rest in peace. And may Allah protect our team.
