@CalSleeper we are now sitting at Lea Hall with a platform outside and yet we can't get off the train. This is a delay of spectacular proportion and management lacking in common sense. No working loos, no opening windows or doors. We could get off and get a taxi: computer says no
I can't even get my bike off the stand now. What has happened to common sense and common decency 😖😖😖 Lime needs to negotiate with local authorities to create more parking and not up bike stand spaces #banebikes#cityoflondon#lime@limebike
I have been a London cyclist for 19 years. I love the access to cycling that e-bikes provide. But can we not just ban e-bikes for hire until they learn how to park? They don't need to take up bike-parking spaces when they don't need a lock! 😖#lime#ebike#limebike#humanforest
I wonder when we will see a budget that looks at the health / happiness of the nation and the environment? In a world of limited resources using GDP as our only measure of 'progress' is not the answer #health#happiness#environment#oneplanet#sustainable#circular
Shout out to @LNER who got us to #Inverness last night. I think the only train to make the journey north of #Perth as @ScotRail had cancelled everything. @LNER even opened the bar which was well stocked! Result and thank you as we get to spend time with family today 🙏😍
@OctopusEnergy = great example of net positive (reinvesting in good stuff) business. But what about solar panels at end of useful life? Only 1 factory in Europe can recycle them (into raw materials only) & solar PV market grows by 20% pa globally. @g__j funding opportunity? 🙋
There’s a good argument that appropriately structured companies should be able to innovate more as they grow. Just like every node on a tree is a point of growth, so could be every team, product & chunk of code…
Why are @BBCNews and others giving this airtime when we lost 750+ into waters much closer to home including 100+ children? Why has £££m been spent on searching for #titan? It could have been spent on helping immigrants make a life for themselves?#equality
@battycakes Wow, what a sh*t time. Sending you strength and reassurance that you will look back on this and realise that it's made you even more kick ass. Good luck with the next Garage venture. It sounds great! @EverydaySexism
@MayorofLondon - we were shocked to find that to take a family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids) from London Bridge to Greenwich and back was going to cost us £47.00. Ouch! Adult return: £21. Who is this good for? @Uber? Rich bankers who can afford the commute? #travel#public#access
Enjoyed @LemBingley editorial for @PropertyWeek w/e 10/3 celebrating #IWD2023. I've since been at my first #MIPIM2023 and was staggered by the lack of diversity on show across the European property industry. The organisers have a DE&I challenge on their hands!
https://t.co/oRrF9snA1g - by my calcs £20bn on CCU/S is a drop in the ocean and prices the UK's 500m CO2e tonnes pa at £40/ton. The C02 price needs to be closer to £300/ton to allow for the amount of investment needed to really reduce emissions #carbon#budget
I'm with @georgiebingham and @GaryLineker - politicians in power are not acting in the best interest of our country. Let's embrace the culture/food/diversity we enjoy off the back of offering people refuge from around the globe: and NOT just wealthy billionaires who pay!!! ✊
Good morning to everyone who stood and stands with Gary against a corporation that at the top has been infested by right-wing cronyism and infected by a government who wishes authoritarianism on our great Auntie & the people who work there. You’ve done us all very very proud.
I just signed this "cease and desist" letter to fossil fuel CEOs from @GretaThunberg, @vanessa_vash, @SumakHelena, and @Luisamneubauer. It demands an end to the fossil fuel projects that are destroying our planet. Join us! @Davos@wef#wef23 https://t.co/NdCGMBIRb1
As an open water swimmer and climate activist dumping raw sewage into our waterways makes me extremely angry. I have pledged to support this campaign, please do the same: https://t.co/Qg0tHigeho
@nedboulting Couldn't agree more. The biggest danger on the road to a cyclist is other cyclists (or at least a special angry few). I'm also a massive advocate of cyclists proceeding at caution at junctions so we don't have to cycle around in dangerous pelotons and in front of traffic.
