I didn’t join the session early, so I had to go back to the recording.
This session was an introductory dive into queues; how they work, why they work, and why we need them.
Long-running tasks take time and can slow down an application’s performance, so we handle them in the background with queues.
This approach improves response times for users, decouples services, helps absorb traffic spikes, and makes the system more resilient with features like retries, dead-letter queues, and rate limiting.
