Bennet came into the #cogov race strong, but his campaign always felt like a bit of an imposition on the base and Weiser successfully turned that against him. Weiser was also more effective at painting Bennet as soft against Trump than Gonzales was re: Hickenlooper. #copolitics

Marx has cut Kirkmeyer’s lead to 638 votes. The Denver metro broke much stronger for him than expected, flipping Adams statewide and gaining raw votes on Kirkmeyer in Jefferson.
Colorado’s 2026 governor race may come down to coalition-building.
Both parties should look seriously at a Black American woman with deep civic roots, public-service experience, and governing readiness for Lt. Governor.

I would think so. Kay Bailey Hutchison retired in 2012, two years after she lost the Republican primary for Texas governor in 2010. So, there's some precedent! #COGOV

As someone who pays excruciating attention to Republican election deniers, I can say that within the CO GOP, the "vote-in-person-on-election-day-only" block is not insubstantial. More of them will go to Bottoms than Marx, but very few will go to Kirkmeyer.
